Spam! [ 08/17/07] kaji_sensei [ mood | accomplished ] Maybe? A number of y'all saw the start of this last night, here it is with more pictures and an update. Long story short, I've been itching for an opportunity to mess around with canvas for a while, and they were on sale for half off at the local craft store when Saku and I hit it to look for yarn the other night. I've been picking up calligraphy more and more of late, and decided that this would be an awesome opportunity to try something more elaborate than merely putting words to paper. In short, I've decided to try doing a full-on manuscript, instead. Illuminated letters, drop capitals, adornments on the margins, everything. Been quite a fun project so far. ( Image-heavy, so just let's just skip the formalities and click the cut, no? ) ( And what's it say, anyway? ) I'm open to ideas for what would look good for the border, so if you have suggestions, please feel free to post them! Technical Info: Ink on canvas, with pencil marks from preliminary sketching and some gold paint for the initial letter. read 2 or post
