this poem was written by drew barrymore some time during the 90s. i think it's really sweet. :)

i think if the weetzie movie were made in the early 90s, drew would have been a great choice to play her. she was perfect in 'mad love'.

"...I thought about my little yellow cottage with roses in front and a fish pond in back. I thought about how my daughter put her hand in mine. I thought about how good it feels to work out hard, to do yoga and lift weights and use the elliptical even though it's not like dancing or running which I miss a lot. I thought about how nice Whole Foods is in autumn, even though it's too expensive. How it makes me think of Thanksgiving with the gourds and corn and sunflowers. I thought about my friends. They always understand and they know what real beauty is. I thought about the story from the smart, handsome stranger in the hipster hat. I thought about my children asleep in their beds, their eyelids trimmed with lashes like wishes, their lips poised like kisses, the way they throw their arms above their heads so gracefully, proof of how safe they feel in spite of the questions my son asked me in the bath last night: "When is the world going to explode, Mommy? Is the sun going to burn us up?"
I am sad sometimes. I am scared sometimes. It wasn't really such a bad day. I live in love."

FLB-inspired writing (and a potential prompt)

Hey all :) I recently wrote a poem inspired by an FLB quote and in the style of the stuff she posts on her Myspace, and I also noticed that sometimes she encourages readers to add their own contributions to a relevant poem or list that she makes. I think this is a great idea, and if anyone's game for it I'd like to try it with this community; it's a good opportunity for those who write to get their creative juices flowing and such and it'd be better than if this just seemed like a self-indulgent pimpage of my writing on a community page, which I don't *completely* intend for it to be, but it could be misconstrued as such...;D

I used to get all my FLB books from my local Barnes & Noble but now they don't seem to carry them. The last book I bought was Primavera and I know that she published quite a few since then. I was wondering if anyone could give me a list so that I can find them and purchase them. I currently own:

-Dangerous Angels
-Wasteland
-Primavera
-The Rose and the Beast

I have read Echo, I Was A Teenage Fairy, Violet & Claire, and Girl Goddess #9 but I don't own them.

amazon says they shipped my copy of uncage a girl. so excited to read it. i get so excited when i look at her myspace and see all the books she is working on/has coming out. also a few months ago i posted asking about the twilight series. i ended up reading all 4 of them and got pretty into the vampire love story haha.
