Hello honey pies! My name is Aurora. I'm from Miami, Florida. I'm going to Los Angeles the 21st of July for the first time, and I was wondering if there was anyone who currently lives there that could suggest cool clubs/bars or anywhere in particular to go! (Besides the FLB-esque places I'm already heading for!) :) I'd greatly appreciate it!

 Hey Angels.

I just opened up my store. A lot of my work is inspired by Miss Block's characters and imagery. So here is a link and have a wondeful, magical day.

so there is a amazing japanese place in new haven ct that has food that sounds like the kind of food flb describes in alot of her books. i had pumkin miso soup, and these huge amazing veggie sushi rolls like eggplant teriyaki and rolls filled with mango and sweet potato. thought it was worth mentioning since she mentions japanese food a lot

Selling my entirety $3 each! [May. 26th, 2009|04:50 am]

gabaruni
Hi everyone, I've decided to leave the world of Francesca Lia Block. As I am growing out of her style of writing (though I have fond memories of some of my books still) It's hard to do, but I want to sell my entire line of FLB books including her anthology firebirds rising. Each of my books are $3, with $3 shipping. I know that someone on this comm wants these books and you guys will treat her books well. I have all her books except the newer ones that have come out in the past year like quakeland etc.

I'm also selling messages in bottles for $3, so please come and check it out.

My sale post is at my journal here: http://gabaruni.livejournal.com/138482.html

[mood | lethargic]

So I did a 1sentence fanfiction, which is basically where you are given 50 one-word prompts to make a sentence out of relating to a couple of your choice. I picked Witch Baby and Angel Juan because they are just amazing!

http://community.livejournal.com/1sentence/735599.html#cutid1 is the link. :D

Hello again everyone [Apr. 24th, 2009|07:09 pm]

water_weasel
Hello!
I posted not that long ago about a project I had. In it, we had to discuss why a book (I chose Weetzie Bat) should be on our American Lit. class syllabus. We also have to make a presentation and have a poster. I plan on doing something different with my poster, and I'm thinking about making little slinkster dogs and putting each bullet point on a different dog. When I talk about that point, I'll hang the dog on the board. The only problem with this, is that Slinkster doesn't really play a big role, and I think most people won't get the reference.
Here's where you come in: Does anyone have any other ideas about a unique poster? I just HATE seeing square posters with squares of construction-paper backed Times New Roman-style posters.

Thanks!

So I have a project for my American Literature class, and the project is my final grade for the class. We have to pick an American author, and write about which book of his/hers should be on the syllabus. The presentation should be about why it should be on the syllabus. I want to do it on Weetzie Bat. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks guys!
