Hi! I just joined this community. I'm a big fan of Foyle's War, and was thrilled to see they're planning a new season. I can't wait until it makes it to this side of the pond. As you can see from my icon, I'm mostly a Numb3rs fan, but I am in the midst of writing a fanfic that is set in Foyle's War universe, but has several characters from Numb3rs. I'm actually here because I was looking for good Foyle's fic, not primarily to pimp my own fic. But if you're interested, here's the link to my Foyle's War / Numb3rs crossover. I was watching 50 Ships today. How much of it is based on a real situation, because it's very... specific. As in none of the others have things like 'inventor of the synchromesh gearbox' and 'the war hinged on this guy'.
So, who was the real inventor of the synchromesh gearbox, and was there really controversy around it? How about this Howard Page? And the 50 ships situation? I've tried googling but it's very difficult. |

So I was rewatching all the episodes in order. And I suddenly discovered that I must have missed out on an episode in series 2, The Funk Hole, because I'd not seen it before! No wonder I couldn't remember how Sam got together with Andrew! Ah well, meant I got an 'extra' episode! |

I am very excited to announce a new icontest. mystery_stills was founded by those and for those who love mysteries and those who solve them. We will be having challenges focusing on topics ranging from vintage crime novels (Such as the Big Sleep), famous historical cases (Jack the Ripper), fictional detectives (Sherlock Holmes), films (Chinatown, the Illusionist, etc) and crime shows (such as CSI and Criminal Minds) and BBC mystery series like Poirot, Lord Peter, Foyle's War and Cadfael. We will have the community up and running very shortly, with the first two icon challenges being posted this Friday, the 15th of February. We look forward to seeing you over there! |

I don't think I've posted here before. *waves* I love Foyles War, as does my Mum. We totally squee over the wonderful plots and characters. Anyway, in The White Feather (series 1, episode 2, I believe). Also, the other day I was watching an old episode of The Bill, and a girl is kidnapped (by a character played by David Tennant!) and I was looking at the photo of her that her parents and the police were showing, and I was all 'wow she looks familiar...' then they found her at the end, and mum and I both squealed 'THAT'S SAM!' and it was very good. :) |
