I am Canadian?
Hi... been lurking here for awhile because I haven't managed to transport my large collection of found stuff to a scanner, but I found this the other day and thought I'd throw it up here for you guys.

For those of you who aren't Canadian, this is going to require a brief explanation. Molson Canadian beer has had a very VERY successful ad campaign over the past few years that revolves around the line "I am. Canadian". Basically, it plays on patriotic feelings of drunkards. ("You're Canadian, you should drink Canadian, etc etc".

Anyway... I found this little card the other day which is obviously a play on afore-mentioned ad. A very... very... STRANGE play.

I think it's a reference to some beliefs that gods live in trees. Not sure what religion, though.

It's just a reference to nature-worshipping of more primitive cultures. The statue thing is a reference to idol worship.

The thing I find disturbing is that it is so blunt and is almost kind of rude about it. I agree with some of what it says, because I am religious.. however, it is kind of... interesting. I sometimes get very annoyed with evangelics or others who pick apart every part of our cultures and turn it into religion. However, they have the right to do such things and some people will listen, even though that is kind of over killing the religion.

Huh. I know the guy who runs the company that sells these in Canada. There is a whole line of tracts...never seen this one before, though.
