agreed. This is one of those "natural" photoshoots where everyone has caked on makeup. It's pretty though, but doesn't have the WOW factor at all, but it's nice.

Yeah, a bit boring in comparison to others posted, as in they're not all fantasy and imagery or bizarre even, but it really is one of my favorite photo shoot collections ever. :) That's probably hands-down my favorite picture of Gemma! (the 1st one you posted)

Can anyone remind me who this is?

Gemma was the best one. The rest...kind of a letdown. They look too tan...there's not enough contrast between the skin and the hair, or something.

i have do disagree about these being boring. what's so compelling, at least to me, is how in most of the shots, they seem to transcend the simple vogue photography, and instead taken on an almost classical appeal, like one would find in works of art from the baroque period. fascinating stuff. thanks for posting these.

also ... here's a photographer who is able to call a powerful, almost regal look from her subjects. none of that heroin-dead-eye-druggie shit. as that is something i always strive for when i paint, i really really love and respect that.

The tones are fucking gorgeous. Bravo to the photographer for being able to grasp the simple idea of a beautiful gray tone. It doesn't happen often enough.

i like portraits like these - no real props to work with except for maybe a stool, just the model in question in their most natural
form.

the tones and lighting in some of these are wonderful, i have a real love/hate relationship with black and whites since i think there's a fine line between beautiful and tacky but bravo to the photographer for making it lovely.

does anyone here like jean-baptiste mondino? these portraits remind me of him.
