Yikes. If you were right, I'd agree with you. 'Awful' is a bit strong, don't you think?

its an opinion, so no.
firstly the title 'global warming' irritates me. global warming is a terrifying problem stemming from the increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations since the industrial revolution. its something that is slowly destroying our planet. raising awareness about global warming, and educating people about it is fantastic; depicting it as badly photoshopped water and fire surrounding awkwardly posed models with a wind machine shoved in their faces isn't.
and you know what even if it wasn't called global warming i'd still think these were awful because the badly photoshopped water and fire surrounding awkwardly posed models with a wind machine shoved in their faces would still be there, wouldn't they.

Well, that's me told, then.

I still find your opinion unnecessarily harsh but like you said, it's an opinion. Looks like a lot of people agree with you. I agree that calling the shoot 'global warming' is, if not blasphemous, then definitely cliche. However, the models don't seem to be any more or less awkardly posed that any of the other shoots posted here. And while I only see two or three shots that look like they involve a wind machine, they don't seem to be overdone. Plus to me, the photoshop touches seems to be pretty well done.

I'm not too down with the fire ones. I do like the water ones. But hey, that's my opinion. Sorry for jumping on you but I think that you can agree that "Hm. I don't really like these." is different than "These are awful." Thank you for going further and giving a little more detail about why you don't like them.

In their defense, it's just a photo shoot. Like, why should they have to sugar coat the way they feel about it? They might really, really think it's just simply awful.

I mean you're being pretty chill about it but I just had to put my two cents in.

Yeah. I'm probably writing down a lot of 'inside voice' stuff here. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I'm not a professional photographer or fashion reporter or anything like that so my tastes are probably more pedestrian than most. I don't know why I felt compelled to be the etiquette police or whatever it was that I was doing there. I was defending the pictures like I was involved in the shoot or something. I just like a little more from a derisive comment than "these are awful". I'd like to hear more. And I got more. So it's all good.

But I'll stick to just putting my opinion about the pictures forth in the future rather than debating other people's comments. Hope all is mended in case there were any ruffled feathers.

they look awkward. not because of the poses themselves, but the fact that they have no relevance to what the photoshopped effects are doing around them. it looks totally random. except for maybe the 6th and 9th ones...

And the photoshopping is not good.

i don't actually like this shoot very much. or even really at all. Some of the effects are interesting (especially the water effects, which I think are really cool), but the models just look so... posed. I don't know. They're like "oh, look at how sultry I can be..." and it's just played out.

I love how the elements fire and water look here. I have had ideas to work with fire and water before, but have not yet. I knew that working with fire might involve some Photoshop obviously. These shoot had potential to look cheap or tacky, but I really like the aesthetic affect of the fire and the water. Especially the fire. The title made mefeel slightly guilty for enjoying these, though. I don't think it had to be global warming.
