The concept is cute. In the second to last image, with the robot all busted up on a pile of power distribution equipment, it definitely seems to be a reference to the animated film Iron Giant.

Also... just what is up with the crazy shitty photoshop cloning job on that first photo?! The whole right half of the image is very obviously repeated and visually distracting. It's not like that in the original publication is it?
