It's photoshop enhanced ;]
They're both copper / orange AND brown...I can't describe it, but no south asian has that skin tone and both women have very similar tone/hue/whatever.

Um, I beg to differ. Not because my skin looks like that, but because I have very much seen women with skin that colour (and that gloss -- sandalwood oil is still favoured by many) in various parts of India, especially further away from the major cities.

ah that colour is totally different to that tone. There are people who have that dark orange/tan/brown colour, but that tone/hue is rare rare rare, if it exists at all WITHOUT being enhanced by make-up/lighting/photoshop.
Plus, I wasnt on about the "gloss" since in south asia, rubbing various oils on your skin is as common as brushing your teeth every morning. And so we differ :)

We're getting mixed up.
I did not say that it wasn't mimicking the gloss/shine of oiled skin, but no one's skin is naturally shiny and vibrant with a mix of copper/orange/brown like that. I know many whose skin colour (the dark orangey-brown as well as shade/tone) comes close, but it's nowhere near as intense an amalgam of such tones/shades. To understand my point, you'd have to be able to visualise what I am and that's not possible.
*by South asia, I'm primarily referring to the Bengal nations (India, Bangladesh) and their people. It's also has a high population density, meaning it's possible to see way more people gathered at one place than in western countries. We'll have to agree to disgaree, for I'm leaving it here.

(p/s sorry for being so querulous earlier!) I wanted to just comment and say I love that there is a Vogue photoshoot really highlighting the beauty of darker skintones. There is opulence, but also warmth - it doesn't necessarily feel like it's "exotic". I feel like it also focuses on something traditional and Indian in a unique way.
