Today in the grocery store, I saw the cutest thing. A little boy who was like, 4-5 years old. In a Forza Azzurri shirt! Mmm. I almost wanted to go up to him and compliment him on his shirt, must encourage behavouir like that. But I didn't want to scare him or anything haha. And he looked so swedish too, which makes it more adorable.

Other good news is that my dad is in italy, and promised to buy me an italian football magazine. Luckily he didn't ask why, since I don't speak italian, because the answer "Oh it doesn't matter, I'm just after the pictures anyway" isn't the best. (I also made him buy me olive oil and pesto. mmm. italian food is the best)
So, when I get it (shouldn't be so hard to find should it?) i'm so going to scan the best parts ;D

I've also been thinking about chats. I mean, wouldn't it be nice to have an aim chat or something? As a complement to the community, because random talking about italian footballers is always needed. Sure there's a lot in the comments, but still, sometimes you just get the urge to discuss canna's hair or something, and you realize that you've nobody to talk to.
And it's a good way to get to know people.

So, thoughts?

Okay so, I know I've been lazy with the Player of the Moment. The mods and I have decided to tweak it, so it has a purpose (instead of me just picking a random person). This is the current list. We want to include the less-talked about players (on the current national squad), and we also want to include past Azzurri (the legends)-- e.g. Maldini God, Paolo Rossi, etc. And maybe future players to look out for (u-21)

We also wanted to do something like, 'honorary Azzurri' for those who play for an Italian club, but are not Italian (e.g. Kaká, Ibra), but that might be later on. And I think Big Poppa (Lippi) needs to have something special.

Anywho, if you'd like to suggest someone to add on to the list it would be for past and/or future Azzurri. And as for the next player of the moment, any nominations? Along with a reason, other than yknow 'he's pretty' because that's probably a given :P

Before anything else, this is a SERIOUS post.

I just noticed how whenever a video is posted, everyone begs for a translation, which leads me to believe that a great load of us lot aren't exactly well-versed in the Italian language.

That said, I was wondering if any of the native speakers would be so generous as to provide us with a "DAILY DOSE OF ITALIAN" so as to expand our linguistic knowledge, so we don't keep bugging you with translations XD so to speak.

It doesn't have to be a full-blown "lesson", per se. Just little words, phrases, what have you. We're all newbs anyhow, so I don't expect lessons on conjugation rules or sentence structure or anything remotely complicated. Daily colloquialisms and slang will do. =D

Anyway, feedback would be awesome. And do comment if you would be willing to be THE FORZA'S RESIDENT PROFESSORE/SSA You totally get to "discipline" your students, promise.

haha, i am much too tired to put that neatly at the moment. also, yes, i realize there is an 'r' missing in 'azzurri'. my finger slipped when i was typing and i didn't double check. sorry? different categories have been made for each player, and i'll be adding as more pictures come along. i have a question for you though: how should photos with more than one person in it be handled? for instance, a picture with both del piero and cannavaro - do i categorize it under the former or the latter, or both, or group? which would be easier for you? which would you prefer? i've also credited the original poster in the description; if you want your picture[s] removed, just contact me and i'll remove it.

edit: i forgot to add, for people that post videos in embedded links, could you all possibly add the original link that you got it from? i can't view embedded videos, which makes it impossible to list those videos on the list. thanks.

lastly, i know we've all seen those "you know you're a redneck if..." lists and other ones. well, i've been itching to do a "you know you're from forzazzurri when..." i think it would be a fun thing for everyone to help compile. from certain nicknames for the guys, to graphics to anything related to gli azzurri [past, present and future] and the community and it's members. Here's one to start.

You know you're from forzazzurri when you can use the term HRS in passing, and others know whom you're talking about.

also, to make things somewhat easier, i've started compiling a complete and exhausted list of all the videos that have been posted in this community. i shall hopefully make it available to all you fine folks by the end of the week, maybe friday? there are quite a lot of videos to go through, and having to watch to get a description, and making sure there aren't any repeats on the list.

in my mad organizing fury, i was thinking about making a photobucket/image hosting account solely for this community. all pictures that have been posted here [with the original posters permission] would be added to the account, so that it would be easier to navigate, and not have to worry about encountering dead links. yay or nay? comment below.

So, in this "I <3 my comm" vibe, what do you think about doing something that other team-loving, similar comms do? I'm thinking about each of us (or just who wants to, obviously)choosing a favorite player and doing a post like this, maybe including some info, too.

And I had already been thinking of doing something like Player of the Week. I'm sure you probably understand the idea, but to clarify:

I would announce a player and throughout the week members could share picspams, videos, information, quotes, etc., about the featured person. (But we could still continue posting usual news, discussions, etc. even if it doesn't pertain to the player of the week.) The only thing is that I would like to avoid having multiple posts with repeated photos, media, what have you. So if everyone was cool about checking previous entries to avoid reposts, I think it would work out fine.

At the end of the week I could put all the links of the entries in one post and add it to the memories so we can build sort of a reference/profile for the players.

I know everyone has a favorite player so it'd be nice to have special week to share the love. What does everyone think of this idea? Feedback would be appreciated. And if you want to add any other ideas/suggestions, feel free. I'm open to pretty much anything, but I can't use all suggestions. So please don't take it personally; it doesn't mean I didn't like your idea ;)
