Hi all, your friendly (if tardy) maintainer here.
I just pulled out those lovely spammy posts, anyone care to chime in about going to a moderated model for all postings? I'd rather not as I'm the only maintainer at the moment and it could greatly delay postings when I'm away from my computer, but I'm game if people prefer that.
Any other comments re: the community?

I'm looking for someone to fill my room for June 1 or 15, though dates between then are negotiable.
Rent is $800 (heat not included), lease is month-to-month.
About 8-minute walk to Davis or Porter stations. Lots of permit street parking.
Free laundry in basement.
The apartment is on the second and third floors of a two-family house. There is a front enclosed porch, living room, dining room, shared office, back enclosed porch, back deck, large kitchen, and abundant storage throughout. The available room has two closets, two windows, ceiling fan, and cable hookup.
The roommates are two friendly, professional men in their early 30s.
No cats please.

| Discounted Hotel Rooms |

I know this isn't applicable to most people since you *live* in Boston, but it's worth a shot.
I'm running an event next week and we have some extra rooms in the hotel block. The rate is $129 a night for the Hyatt Riverside in Cambridge and it's good for March 12-14th. It's a good rate for that hotel (it's a nice hotel and all of the rooms look out at the Cambridge River) so feel free to pass this link around to anyone who might be interested in taking advantage of the discounted rate.

WHEN? This Saturday: 7am to 1 or 2pm.
WHERE? 287 Massachusetts Ave in Arlington MA
next to the Getty Station, the Arlington Center for the Arts, across the street from a tall white church and a funeral home.
WHO? It is being put on by myself and 2 of my neighbors. And YOU are invited (yeah, that was wicked impersonal i know, sorry)
WHAT? The 2 other guys have a bunch of knick knacks, collectables, art.. stuff like that. They weren't too specific with me but they have a bunch of stuff i guess, and then i will have the following things, plus some other stuff i will forget to mention.
WHY? cuz yard sales are awesome and cheap and fun, and i have a lot of really cool stuff that could be yours.
Some things i will have... DVD's, video cassetts, audio casettes, CD's, bongos, decorations, jewlery, toys, books, art, craft supplies, rock music t-shirts, leather jacket, trenchcoat, hats, games, dolls, punk patches, key chains, greeting cards, video games, magnets
Videos, DVD's and CD's are all $1 each. Unless otherwise mentioned.
Audio Cassettes are anywhere from 10 cents to 75 cents
PS2 Video games are marked for a dollar or 2.

| 20 gb ipod, doesn't hold charge |

i have a 20 gig ipod (not video) that worked fine; is somewhat loaded with music (indie/world/80s/folk), but won't hold a charge anymore. in fact, i can't now get it to turn on after leaving it sitting around for about 6 months. maybe all it needs is a new battery. anyway, i have a sansa now (and a subscription to rhapsody), so i don't need or want the ipod. i'll sell it to you for $120. (a new 30 gig goes for $249 on apple.com; a new used 20 gig for $170 & up on amazon.com; dubious old/used 20 gigs for 1 cent on ebay...)
