Would you like to affiliate with my community?
Sure we would, as long as your community is related to fanmixes, music, or the Twilight series. Leave us a comment here!

Is there a song limit or minimum for mixes?
Your mix must contain at least three songs.

Mixes with under eight songs are considered EPs and should be labelled as such.

There is no maximum song limit. Practically speaking, one might consider that most CDs will hold no more than 80 minutes - but a two-disk mix is twice the fun, right?

I'm on dial-up, do I have to upload the songs to go with my soundtrack?
Yes. If it is easier for you to only upload a zip or only upload individual songs, that's fine. As long as the songs are uploaded. Otherwise, what's the point?

Do we have to have covers for our fanmix?
Yes. They don't have to be perfect works of art. They just have to exist :)

Do covers have to be a specific size?
No. Most people make square covers around 400x400, but you can make yours smaller, larger, or even not square.

Can we request fanmixes?
No.

Can we tag our posts?
Yes. You can tag your posts with the subject of your fanmix. If you would rather not mess with tags, don't worry. The mods will tag posts that aren't tagged. A full list of current tags can be found here.

At [info]fanmix, I've found it's much easier to make the posts automatically friends-locked than expecting people to lock it themselves. Then you can get terribly mad at those whose posts aren't locked as it means that they went back after they posted and purposely made it public. ;)

Anyway, if you go to the admin console and enter the following, all future posts made to the community will be automatically friends-locked. :)

What to enter:

set for forksradio newpost_minsecurity friends

omg. You're officially my hero. I have been trying to figure out how to make the security automatically friends-locked for days, lol. I thought it would be conviently located in the settings area or something, but no. So I checked the FAQ on community management and didn't see anything there either. I was going to beg my flist for help, but now I don't have to, yay!

It's actually there, but I swear it's the most impossible one to find (it's here under the 'read more'). I'd searched for it about 15 times until someone linked me to it. Now the LJ's changed the title of it, but it's still near impossible to find unless you know exactly which one to look for.
