Mr and Mrs Rooney set off to celebrate their first anniversary abroad [15 Jun 2009|09:48am]

anutrina
It seems like only yesterday that lovebirds Wayne and Coleen Rooney married at a lavish ceremony on the Italian Riveria.

But already the couple are celebrating their first anniversary and the impending arrival of their first child.
And what better way to mark the occasion than a Caribbean holiday in the sun?

The pair set off from Manchester Airport for break in Barbados, where they own a £5million house overlooking Mullins Beach on the west of the island.

Coleen, 23, dressed for comfort in a floor-sweeping grey skirt and denim jacket which covered her growing baby bump.

Manchester United player Wayne, 23, also looked his usual casual self in a red hooded top and jeans.

They were not the only footballer and WAG to set off for sunny climes today.

Not to be outdone, Liverpool player Steven Gerrard and wife Alex Curran were also at Manchester Airport as they headed off for a relaxing break.

The couple will be celebrating their second wedding anniversary abroad, following their wedding at stately home Cliveden in June 2007.

It was obvious the pair had not mastered the art of packing lightly as Steven, 29, wheeled a trolley loaded with luggage and Alex even used a pushchair to cart her Louis Vuitton case.

They're certainly not singing any more.

It's been another trophy-less season for Arsenal Football Club and the team members got together to commiserate with one another at an exclusive party at London's Sketch club.

Young star Theo Walcott, 20, and his student WAG Melanie Slade, 19, paired up with Dutch striker Robin van Persie, 25, and wife Bouchra, for a sober gathering for goalkeeper Manuel Almunia's birthday last night

Coleen Rooney: Keeping it real in Wayne's World [14 Apr 2009|10:11am]

anutrina
She has the man, mansion and Wag's shopping habit, yet Coleen has managed to keep her girl-next-door appeal and turn it into a multimillion-pound brand. Here she shares her thoughts on Chanel bags, the Champions' League – and children.

Coleen Rooney became famous only six years ago, yet today, at just 23, she is a national institution.

Then, she was a hesitant schoolgirl in uniform and lumpy coat; now, she is the author of Coleen’s Real Style and arrives at our photo shoot in a coquettish fusion of designer and high street: True Religion jeans, Lanvin top, Prada boots and Topshop shaggy fake fur.

Then, she was the newish girlfriend of Everton’s Wayne Rooney, precocious recruit to the England football team’s doomed quest for silverware; now, she sports on her third finger a bantam-egg-sized diamond – an interlocking engagement and wedding ring – which Manchester United superstar Wayne gave her for their summer 2008 marriage.

Then, she was famous as Wayne’s Wag; these days, she is a living brand – ‘Coleen x’ – her signature and girlie kiss on books, perfume, jewellery and loaned to charity ventures.
‘I don’t watch the football when Wayne’s not playing; it’s not exciting to me’Meeting her at a Manchester boutique hotel, the speed and improbability of her trajectory is immediately apparent. As we talk, her manner remains sweet and attentive, but her foot projects at a gawky, self-conscious angle, like Princess Diana in the early days.

Yet put her in front of a camera and the girl barely needs direction: smile, look down, tilt the head – she runs through the poses during our photo shoot with the assurance of a professional. She has the same velvety skin – gently tanned after a holiday in Barbados – and dazzling whiteness of eye and tooth I have only previously seen in top models, which is almost incongruous given that her looks have never been supermodel perfect. Which is one of the reasons we love her. She is pretty-miss from next door but with unexpected lustre.

The one constant in all this madness has been the immutable Wayne, a monosyllabic Northern bloke distrustful of crafting an image, a rock upon which the urgent force of fashion has beaten in vain.

Last autumn, he turned out for England with an alarming shaven head, which says it all really. Coleen cringes. ‘Oh, don’t go there! One of his friends did that. He started going to get his hair done at a barber’s and then he stopped.

'The thing with Wayne – he likes to go to places where he knows people. If he goes to a new place, it takes him a bit to get his whereabouts.’ So who cuts it now? ‘My mum did it last. With me saying, “Just trim that bit there.”’ And she quickly changes the subject.
Coleen has always been wary of any topic that might be used as fodder in the endless teasing that goes on in footballers’ dressing rooms. This seems to me to be an essentially feminine misreading of male-bonding mechanisms.

‘Wayne’s not interested in fashion,’ she concedes. ‘He’s got a friend who works in a shop in Manchester, so he’ll go there when winter starts and the same in summer. That’s him done with shopping for months.’

He drives to training in dodgy M&S slippers, apparently. ‘Actually, I haven’t seen him go in slippers for a while,’ she insists. ‘He’s been wearing flip-flops instead.’

What strikes you when talking to Coleen about Wayne is how very normal their relationship is. Our interview and photo shoot coincides with a vital Champions League fixture for Manchester United in Milan.

‘Wayne went away yesterday. I won’t see him till tomorrow. I still get excited when he comes back,’ she adds, with a loved-up smile. Having driven in from their new-build mansion in a leafy Cheshire village, she will drive herself to her mum’s in Liverpool this evening to watch the match on television.

She says that before they married, she and Wayne religiously celebrated the anniversary of their first date (Austin Powers 2 at their local cinema). ‘And when things remind me of that day, I still get butterflies. Young love is special. We went on a few dates and then we seemed to be together all the time. A lot of people say it’s worrying if you’re with each other all the time, but not us.’
‘If I go shopping with Wayne, I’ll say, “Look at that handbag! Isn’t it lovely?” And he’ll say, “You don’t need any more handbags”’
After she left school, aged 17, she languished for a while as a professional girlfriend. ‘We moved into a house in Formby and we were doing it up and I enjoyed it for a bit – however, I didn’t want to be doing that all my life. I was happy but a bit bored.’

A photo shoot with Vogue in 2005 boosted her image and she has since racked up the deals and contracts. ‘So this year there’s the paperback of the book,’ she says. (She pronounces ‘book’ something like booh-ker, her Scouse accent musical and idiosyncratic.)

‘That was fun, talking about things I’m interested in. And then I’m doing a second perfume, a summer fragrance. I love perfume, I’ve got loads of bottles. And my Argos jewellery. Every girl loves a bit of bling. I wanted to do it at a price that suits anyone. I’m over the moon with the watches.

'Someone said to me, “I like your watch.” I said, “It’s Argos.” I teamed it with a diamond bracelet and it looked so expensive. The lady who asked me couldn’t get over it.
‘Of course, the big thing this year was the show [the second series of her reality TV programme, Coleen’s Real Women on ITV2, which ends on Tuesday]. I enjoyed it so much more this time. I felt more confident, more relaxed. It’s on tonight,’ and then her voice drops. ‘Oh, no! I’ll have to
Sky-plus it because the it because the match is on!’

It’s not as if Coleen is a real footie fan. ‘I don’t watch the football when Wayne’s not playing; it’s not exciting to me.’ Yet she bought an executive box at Old Trafford, attends all home games and endures Wayne’s obsessive-compulsive fixation.

‘Soon as we come in on a Saturday, Match of the Day is on. Then on MUTV [the Manchester United channel] the match gets repeated at midnight, so he watches that, too. It’s football constantly on the telly.’

He’s watching himself twice to learn from his mistakes? ‘Yeah.’ But she must be bored silly having seen it live? ‘I go to bed. I’m an early bird anyway. If friends come round he’ll Sky-plus it, but he’s itching to watch. It takes a lot for him to record it and watch the next day.’

Even when they see her family, there is endless football ‘banter’, because Coleen’s dad and two younger brothers are Liverpool fans. One brother won’t join her in her box for United’s home games against Liverpool. ‘He sits with the away fans.’

It seems only fair to have a good girlie chat about her own interests, as evidenced in Coleen’s Real Style. Does she have a dressing room at home?

‘Yeah.’ Is it organised by colour or category? ‘No. It’s not messy, it’s neat, but it’s not in order. I’ve also got clothes on rails in another room as well.’ She gives a guilty giggle.

‘I had a big clear-out six months ago but I always get to a point where I need another.’ How many pairs of jeans does she have? ‘I don’t know. Quite a few.’

Does she know how many handbags she has? ‘No. I don’t think I’d want to count.’ This is said in a small voice. Then she rallies. ‘I wouldn’t give away my really expensive handbags, I’m afraid. Shoes and handbags are my favourite things.

‘If I go shopping with Wayne, I’ll say, “Look at that handbag! Isn’t it lovely?” And he’ll say, “You don’t need any more handbags!”’ She is giggling.

‘He’s quite good. He knows that if I’ve got a bit of money to spend, from a young age I’ve liked to buy a handbag or pair of shoes.’

What’s the last thing he bought her? She picks up a black leather Chanel bag. ‘For Valentine’s Day. It’s my favourite.’ But he’s got such good taste! (I must sound incredulous.) She bursts out laughing. ‘Erm, I think he got a bit of help from the shop assistant. I throw a few hints and he goes to the shops where they know me and they direct him in the right ways.’

Is it true he said her bum looked big in her Juicy Couture tracksuits? ‘Well, he doesn’t like me wearing Juicy tracksuits so I think that was a way of getting me out of them. But I still wear them to the supermarket.’

She says she still makes fashion errors but wants to experiment. ‘I also keep clothes I’ve spent a lorra money on. If I have daughters of my own one day, they could have them.’

Coleen’s parents started fostering when she was 13 and still do. Last year, they fostered a little boy for six months. ‘Wayne bought him a tiny Manchester United shirt with “Rooney” on the back.’

Coleen talks about her adopted sister Rosie – who has a degenerative disorder called Rett syndrome – with determined positivity. ‘When she came to us at the age of two, she could crawl, pick things up and eat. Now she can’t do any of that. She gets fed through a tube. She’s on oxygen. But she is happy.

'She was 11 this month. She loves balloons so we filled a room up with them.’ They also took her to Lourdes recently. Did Coleen have hope of a cure? She shakes her head, smile drooping. ‘My mum and dad go every year. When I was 16 I went with the [church] youth [group]. I thought it was going to be really pure. Didn’t expect the flashing Our Ladies!’ She is referring to the products for sale in the tacky shops around the grotto.

‘This time we went as a big group – my auntie and uncle, mum’s friends, playing bingo with all the old people – it was just about being yourself, doing things you don’t do any more but used to love.’

As we finish, she hands me a heart-shaped brooch, which she designed for the Variety Club. She is their first ambassador since Princess Diana.
As if to underline her status as national treasure, a new museum in Liverpool has asked her to donate a Balenciaga dress she wore to last year’s Aintree Ladies’ Day.

It is an odd life she leads, full of unimaginable rewards and curious pitfalls, and I take my hat off to her for negotiating it all so gracefully. I think of her that evening, dutifully watching the goalless match.

Wayne is on the bench, coming on for only the last six minutes.

I'M PREGNANT! ...AND I KNOW WAYNE WILL BE A GREAT DAD [07 Apr 2009|09:57am]

anutrina
It’s true - I’m pregnant! It’s the most brilliant news and, along with marrying Wayne, the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

Wayne is over the moon and so excited and I just know he’ll be a great dad. It’s something we both wanted and we feel incredibly lucky and happy. The baby is due in October.

The only sad thing is that the news leaked out before either of us or our families really wanted it to. Pregnancy is a miracle, but it’s still the early stages.

I really want to be able to keep as quiet and as calm as possible for the sake of our baby. I just hope that photographers will give me a bit of peace and privacy in the months ahead.

I don’t think that’s too much for any expectant mum to ask. We have no idea whether our baby will be a boy or a girl and we really don’t mind as long as he or she’s healthy and grows up happy.

As I say, there’s a long way to go and in the meantime I’ll be carrying on working, in between doing whatever is necessary for the pregnancy. Fingers crossed it’s going to be a wonderful year!

Katie Andre was seen getting drunk on a night out in Brighton this week when her husband Peter was back in LA with the kids, but why shouldn’t she?

As long as the kids are with Pete then no one should criticise her for leaving them because it’s not like they’re being left on their own.

Even celebrities like having normal nights out. The best thing for me is to go round to a friend’s house and have a good girlie chat without the cameras looking in and judging me on what I’m doing. It’s nice just to forget about everything.

I had an amazing birthday last Friday. I was able to celebrate it on Ladies Day at the races at Aintree with all my family and friends. It was such a laugh - even though I wasn’t drinking!

'We're very excited :)' Coleen Rooney tells Twitter friends as she displays the beginnings of a baby [31 Mar 2009|02:02pm]

anutrina
A thrilled Coleen Rooney has spoken for the first time about her pregnancy.
The 22-year-old wife of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney confirmed she is expecting the couple's first child.

In a post on her Twitter site, she wrote: 'Yes I can confirm that baby Rooney is on the way....isn't it exciting :-)

'Thank you everyone, for the lovely messages.'

Dressed for comfort: Coleen Rooney appears to be showing the tiniest hint of a bump as she leaves the shops today

Coleen and Wayne, 23, had previously only told close family and friends about their baby news.

It is believed that she had her 12-week scan and is planning on turning a room in their £4.5million mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire, into a nursery.

Coleen, who finished filming the latest series of her TV show Coleen's Real Women, in January has been inundated with messages of support.
In reply to one fan who wrote to say it would be the best experience of their lives, Coleen replied: 'I know we're very excited. Thanks.'

She told another that the couple are still deciding on names, but added it wouldn't be anything 'weird'.

Bookies have been taking bets on what they will call the baby.
William Hill offered odds of 4/1 that they would name a boy Alex after Wayne's United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, 67.

Olivia is the 6/1 favourite girl's name with Waynetta - after the comedy character in Harry Enfield's TV show - a 25/1 long shot.

Last month, Coleen said she would love nothing better than to become a housewife and had talked to Wayne about starting a family.

She said: 'I would like to have a family - maybe three or four children - and I would be happy to be a full-time mum. I do enjoy my work, but I'd be happy when we do have children to just get on with that.'

In her February column for a magazine, she advised a woman who was three months pregnant: 'Make the most of being small now as you're only going to get bigger.'

Coleen Rooney look like the ultimate bag lady while out shopping [23 Mar 2009|10:03am]

Coleen Rooney proves - once again - that she's the ultimate bag lady.

Perhaps she was stocking up for her birthday next month as Coleen, 22, did her best yesterday to save shops in Liverpool from the crunch.

Meanwhile, husband Wayne was sent off in United's 2-0 defeat by Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Is that a rug, Coleen? Mrs Rooney steps out in a bold shaggy jacket [16 Mar 2009|03:10pm]

anutrina
Coleen Rooney is known for her bold fashion choices, and the WAG didn’t disappoint yesterday as she stepped out in a fur jacket which closely resembled a rug.

The 22-year-old was spotted in the shaggy fur cape, which appeared to be a fur pelts sewn together in a circular pattern, as she left The Sir Thomas Hotel restaurant in Liverpool.
Mrs Rooney, who was voted the nation's top fashion role model in 2008, teamed the eye-caching jacket with tight-fitting jeans and a nude coloured top.

While it is not known if the jacket is genuine fur, Coleen has previously been targeted by the anti-fur brigade.

Last year angry protesters chanted 'fur is murder' as the scared-looking columnist arrived for the Cricket boutique fashion show in Liverpool.
Coleen, who married England footballer Wayne Rooney last year, caused a stir when she wore rabbit fur Mukluk boots in 2004.

Anti-fur protesters also allegedly took issue with comments she made in a 2005 interview with Closer.

"Rabbits get killed for food, so why waste the skins?" she was quoting as saying.
Last week it was revealed that an appeal by Coleen and husband Wayne for their wedding guests to donate to a struggling hospice instead of buying them presents raised just £2,000.

The poor response was a particular disappointment as the guests included several of Rooney's Manchester United team mates.

The Claire House hospice in the Wirral, where Mrs Rooney's ten-year-old sister Rosie receives regular respite care, is now urgently appealing for donations to help it stay in business.
She recently expressed her sympathy for cancer stricken Jade Goody.

‘It’s been so sad seeing Jade become more and more ill in the papers.

'Especially seeing her with her two gorgeous boys. My heart really goes out to her.

‘I met her and a few of her friends at the V Festival a few years ago. They were a lovely bunch of girls, they reminded my of my group of friends as they seemed really nice[', she says.

'I know they’ll be really strong for her and will be totally supporting her, along with all her family.’

WAG Alex Curran is just wild about fashion... as she steps out in a pair of leopard-print shorts [27 Feb 2009|11:03am]

anutrina
She is one of the city's major fashion icons, so it should come as no surprise that Alex Curran donned a high fashion outfit just to pop to her local shops.

The wife of Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard wore a wild-looking pair of high-waisted leopard-print shorts as she stepped out with a friend this afternoon.

It may not have been shorts weather, but she kept the cold out with a pair of heavy-duty opaque black tights which she paired with super-high platform ankle boots from TopShop.

The young mother of two, 26, is rarely seen looking less than immaculate and today was no exception.

Alex is clearly keen to show off her newly toned figure. The former exercise phobic shed half a stone in three weeks after finally sticking to her new year's resolution to get fit.

She told Closer: 'I just wanted to tone up – especially my stomach. I’m happy at the size I am, and being too thin doesn’t suit me.'
Alex's fashionable moment came as she stepped out to run errands on the day Liverpool Fashion Week is launched.

Alex is no doubt keen to be in tip-top condition for the highlight of the Liverpool social calendar as Liverpool Fashion Week launches tonight with a big party expected to attract the city's premier WAGs and celebrities.

The week-long event will showcase the latest collections on catwalks in venues across the city next month.
Liverpool Fashion Week, which was first launched in the city last March, is being fronted by Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan.
The 21-year-old soap star will be joined by a host of celebrities when she takes to the runway for charity gala fashion show, Scouse In The City, at Liverpool’s Olympia on March 13.
Michelle said: 'Liverpool has a fantastic, vibrant fashion scene. You can see that when you walk down the city centre high street or see the effort people go to when they hit the clubs.'

Bed card for Frank Lampard [15 Feb 2009|07:50pm]

Fiancee Elen just couldn't live with star any more

ENGLAND ace Frank Lampard has been DUMPED by his Spanish fiancée.

Stunning Elen Rives is moving out of their London home with their two children. A pal said: “The passion has gone.”

Elen gave the England ace the boot after a heartbreak holiday away from him in Florida, we can reveal.

When she returned the Chelsea star pleaded with his fiancee to stay with him for the sake of their little daughters . . . but Elen, 30, insisted there was no way back.

Now Lampard has bought her a house ten minutes from their £3 million family home so he can stay close to Luna, two, and one-year-old Isla.

His spokesman told us last night: “No one else is involved.”

But the wayward midfielder, also 30, has twice been caught cheating on Elen since they got together in 2001.

And a pal close to the couple said: “It’s the saddest thing Elen’s ever had to do, but the love has gone.

“She was the one who ended it and she’s the one who’s moving out.

“Frank will continue to play a very active role in his children’s lives and see them every day. But he and Elen have grown apart. The passion has gone out of the relationship.

Our source said: “Elen’s a sensitive, bright and proud woman who hated the humiliation of Frank’s betrayal but was prepared to give it another go.

“However, in recent months they have drifted apart.”

Ex-model Elen finally made up her mind during a sunshine break in Florida last month with the children, a friend and nanny.

While she bronzed herself on the beach, Lampard—whose form has nosedived—was enduring a humiliating 3-0 Chelsea defeat at the feet of arch-rivals Manchester United.

Lampard was last seen out with his family in December at the Winter Wonderland attraction in London’s Hyde Park.

The agony of their split could hardly contrast more with the elation the soccer star felt about finding love with Elen in April 2002.

Describing how he first laid eyes on “intelligent, funny, intuitive” divorcee Elen—his first proper girlfriend—Lampard said: “Elen stopped me in my tracks. We met in a nightclub through mutual friends.

“A seething, noisy throng is not the ideal start to a relationship, yet the moment I saw her I was smitten.”

Their relationship started shortly after Lampard’s £11 million transfer from West Ham United to Chelsea, and he credits it with making him a man.

In his book, Totally Frank, he said: “I knew Elen was right for me—my heart was shouting it out.”

Last year the star suffered personal heartache with the sudden death of his mother Pat last April.

Our source said: “Frank may well have moved on but Pat’s death left him needing his family more than ever.

“There are a lot of factors behind the break-up. It’s enormously sad. Elen will move out very soon. Obviously Frank will make sure the kids don’t want for anything. It is all very amicable.”

“They are not married—so there is no messy divorce to go through,” said the source. “This is as straightforward a break-up as you can get.”

A spokesman for Lampard confirmed the split to the News of the World.

He said: “Frank and Elen have separated. No one else is involved—they have simply grown apart. This is private matter and they won’t be making any further comment.”

Coleen Rooney tells Fern and Phil on This Morning: 'I wouldn't be where I am without Wayne' [11 Feb 2009|09:53am]

anutrina
Coleen Rooney has admitted that she wouldn't have her career as a television presenter and model if it hadn't been for her superstar footballer partner Wayne Roooney.

Coleen was talking to Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton on today's This Morning to promote her new TV show Coleen's Real Women, which starts tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.

But when asked by Phil whether being with her husband had helped her career, Coleen, who looked slightly flushed with embarassment, admitted: "Definitely."

She added: "I don't think I would have got it (her first modelling job for George at Asda) if I hadn't been in the public eye."

However, Coleen insisted that she had always wanted a career in the media and would have worked hard to get there anyway.

She said she had started taking AS levels in media studies, performing arts and literature. But she decided to drop out after public interest in her as Wayne's girlfriend grew.

She explained to Phil and Fern: "I always wanted to go into media. I wanted to be a nice journalist though, not a nasty journalist."

Coleen also revealed that married life with Wayne since they wed in July last year wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

She revealed that her hubby "watches football constantly" so she has to go into another room to watch a television show she wants to see.

However, she said he had managed to drag himself away once to watch Real Women.

"He said he liked it," beamed Coleen.

Earlier, Coleen had defended her shopping habits on ITV's GMTV saying she works hard for her money and enjoys spending it.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, Coleen revealed she doesn’t take her wealth for granted, but admitted she loves splashing the cash: "I’m lucky in a way because I can go on nice holidays, or I can go into nice events, and I am lucky and I don’t take that for granted in any way whatsoever."

"I think a lot of people criticise me for buying things" continued Coleen, "And I think - you know what? I get good money – and I work hard… And yeah, I do like to buy nice things and I’m able to – so I’m lucky in that way."

When she’s not spending, Coleen also revealed she keeps in constant contact with spouse Wayne by texting and email! She said: "I’m on the phone constantly, on the computer – I hate spending time away from him."

OK Magazine [11 Feb 2009|09:52am]

anutrina
Coleen in OK!

Wow! I can’t believe all the snow we’ve had.

It looked so beautiful and it was amazing to see the whole country come to a standstill. I even had to cancel a shoot because the crew couldn’t get to Manchester!

It’s Valentine’s Day this week, but unfortunately I’m not going to be doing anything with Wayne.

He’s got a match over the weekend, so he’ll be preparing for that. I might have a night out with my single friends instead. I have bought Wayne’s card, though, and am sure we’ll celebrate together when he’s less busy.

Gareth Gates has told OK! he was stunned when his wife discovered she’d conceived their baby on their wedding night.

As I’ve said before, I can’t wait to be a mum, but we are both so busy that it’s just not the right time for us.

Wayne and I will probably have to plan everything, because having children is such a big thing to happen in your life.

I’ve also been asked recently if I’d ever consider celebrating our first wedding anniversary by renewing our vows, like so many people seem to do these days.

Although I really like the idea because it’s romantic, I think one year is far too soon because our wedding is still so fresh in our minds.

I definitely wouldn’t rule it out for Wayne and me, one day, though. Maybe we could do it when we reach our tenth anniversary.

I don’t know what kind of celebration we would have, it might be a low-key event like Victoria Beckham had, or a big celebration like Mel B and Jordan have both had.

Talking of Posh, it’s been rumoured that she’s been lined up to replace Dannii Minogue as a judge on The X Factor.

Others who are also said to be in the running are Lily Allen and Charlotte Church. I think Victoria would be great on the show, she has a good sense of humour and would have some interesting comments to make.

I also reckon Lily would be entertaining as she’s a girl who’s not afraid to say what she thinks. By the way, check out Coleen’s Real Women every Tuesday at 9pm.

'I want to be a full time mother,' says Coleen Rooney as she reveals plans for four children [10 Feb 2009|05:06pm]

anutrina
She seems to enjoy endless exotic holidays and is often seen idling away her days in exclusive boutiques.
Indeed, as the wife of one of Britain's most famous footballers, it is fair to say that a career is not Coleen Rooney's number one priority.

Even so, the 22-year-old has already decided that life as a working mum will simply not be an option.

Instead, the Liverpool-born WAG, who currently presents ITV2 show Coleen's Real Women, has claimed that she won't hesitate to give up work when she has children.

And despite her tender age, she insists she has already talked to her husband Wayne about starting a family.

'TV is time-consuming and a commitment and I'm a real homebird,' she says. 'I don't like to be away from Wayne and my family too much. I'm not mega ambitious.

'I would like to have a family - maybe three or four children and I would be happy to be a full-time mum. I do enjoy my work but I'd be happy when we do have children to just get on with that,' she said in Reveal magazine.

There has been some confusion over what Miss Rooney's profession actually is.

Despite her current presenting role, she last year she listed her occupation as 'journalist' on the back of her column with celebrity magazine, Closer.

However, she has also modelled for Asda, written an autobiography and produced her own range of perfume.

And her decision to give up her career could cost her a small fortune. She currently pockets £41,667 a months for a monthly column in OK! magazine and £13,000 for each episode of her television series.
Either way, she can certainly afford to take things a little easier. She is said to be worth £10million thanks to her various projects since she rose to fame as the girlfriend of Wayne Rooney in 2003.
They are estimated to have a combined wealth of £35million, mostly thanks to Wayne's £90,000-a-week deal with Manchester United.

And she insists her decision to cut-back on work is down to her mother Colette who stayed at home when she and her brothers Joe and Anthony and sister Rosie were growing up.

'Working mums do a great job but my mum was a full-time mum and she loved it. It was nice because she took us to school and picked us up from school - she was always there for us.'

In recent years she has become widely known for her love of shopping and is regularly pictured trawling the shops and laden with bags.

Last year she took nine holidays in 12 months, including trips to Miami, New York, Tenerife, Moscow, Italy and Las Vegas.

She jetted off on her latest holiday to Barbados in January, leaving her husband behind in Manchester whilst he recovered from a footballing injury sustained on duty for his team Manchester United.

Coleen on weight, Wayne & being a wife [09 Feb 2009|10:27am]

anutrina
FOR most people the name Coleen Rooney triggers an image of a girl weighed down by bags of new clothes.

But the model, presenter and WAG reckons these days her time is so taken up with her career — and her figure — that she hasn’t been flexing her credit card.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Coleen says with a giggle: “People have this thing that I’m always shopping, but I’m not. I’ve been too busy lately because I’ve been doing lots of projects.

“I suppose I did used to get photographed at the shops quite a lot but I haven’t been much at all recently.”

Then comes a shocking confession: “I actually need to start going again because my wardrobe’s getting a bit empty. Honestly, it is!”

She adds: “I’ve just had a massive clear-out to get rid of some of my old stuff. I do have quite a big wardrobe and now and again it gets to the point where I can’t cope so I have a sort-out.

“Let’s just say, this time I had quite a few bags to get rid of. I send them to my mum’s house, then my cousins, then my brothers’ girlfriends have a little root and see what they want. Whatever is left goes to charity shops.”

Coleen, 22, is enjoying a new, more domesticated phase in her life following her marriage to England star and childhood sweetheart Wayne in June last year.

The couple, who live in Cheshire, tied the knot in a £5million wedding in Italy.

The new Mrs Rooney — nee McLoughlin — has also been busy shooting the second series of her ITV2 show Coleen’s Real Women, in which she helps ordinary people become models.

She says: “After the wedding we were really busy because I went straight into filming a new series of Coleen’s Real Women in July and Wayne went back into training with Man United.

“For the first few months we were apart a lot. So it was really nice and special when we did see each other.

“In November things slowed down a bit for me so we got to see more of each other. Nothing’s changed dramatically since we got married, it’s just nice to know that my name’s changed and that it’s permanent.

“Our favourite thing is still just to spend time at home together watching TV. I love the word ‘wife’. It took me a while to get used to it, but now it’s really nice.

“I’m used to the name Rooney now as well. At first it was a bit weird, but it’s nice. I had to practise my signature a lot to get the hang of it.

“But it’s all becoming much more normal as time goes on.”

Coleen is looking forward to her first Valentine’s Day as a married woman.

Fortunately, Wayne doesn’t have a match so they will be able to spend the romantic day together.

Coleen says: “Usually we go for a meal, just somewhere local. We’ve been together for six years now so it’s not so big.

“When you’re first together you make quite a big thing of it, but we’ve now got our wedding anniversary to look forward to as well.

“It’s always nice to have an excuse just to go out together though, so I’m sure we’ll do something.”

Whichever restaurant they choose, Coleen will be going for the healthy menu options.

She embarked on a strict diet and exercise regime after her hectic schedule began to take its toll on her figure last year.

As well as filming her TV series, she released her own perfume, Coleen, and a fashion guide, Coleen’s Real Style — leaving little time for work-outs.

But it is clear her renewed efforts are having an effect after she was snapped on holiday in Barbados last month looking toned and slim in a series of bikinis.

Coleen says: “I put on half a stone after the wedding! When you’re travelling and working you grab things on the go and you don’t have time to go to the gym. So I put on some weight. But things have slowed down now and I’ve been back at the gym.

“It was really hard at first. I dreaded it after months of not going, but it does get easier.

“It’s so hard in the winter because you just want to snuggle up and be warm and eat nice comfort food. I hated the first few sessions but once I get going I’m all right.

“I’m still not big on cardio exercise, even though I know that’s what I’ve got to do. I prefer things like Pilates and free weights. I wish I could do more running but I just hate it.

“I am being good though, I haven’t had a takeaway for quite a while! I’m trying to get back on track, so over the winter I’ve been eating nice soups and chicken with vegetables.”

She describes herself as a “classic British pear shape” and once revealed that Wayne jokes about her bum looking big in tracksuits.

And she couldn’t care less.

The Liverpudlian schoolgirl-turned-model is on a mission to show beauty doesn’t have to mean a size-zero body and perfect face.

In the first series of Coleen’s Real Women she helped ordinary women win jobs fronting ad campaigns for tops brands including Pretty Polly, Avon and Ultimo.

And she is set to keep challenging our perceptions of beauty in the new series — which kicks off next week.

She says: “Last time we focused on getting curvier girls into ad campaigns. This time we’ve widened it a bit to include girls who don’t have much confidence and girls who are shorter or who just wouldn’t make it as a model in mainstream agencies.

“Three of our girls in the new series won big ad campaigns. I can’t say which brands but one is make-up, one is a hair brand and one is chocolate.

“We’ve never worked with food brands before but they can be amazing. Some really high-profile people have done them, like Lisa Snowdon for Special K cereal or the Flake chocolate girls.

“I’m not setting out to totally change the industry. Clothes do look great on catwalk models and I can see why they use the girls they do. We’re not looking at high fashion, we’re looking at commercial modelling.

“We don’t want to say they can’t use thin girls for advertising campaigns, we just want to see if there’s room for different sorts of girls as well.

“It would be nice if they’d accept girls who aren’t a certain size or look a certain way.

“I’ve met girls with great personalities and faces who really connect with the audience, and it’s a shame if they can’t get jobs just because they’re not conventional.

“Hopefully, some of our girls will be successful. Looking good and being sexy is about so many different things.

“It’s about having the confidence to wear something a bit different and having your own style, having a bubbly personality and all those other things as well as having a pretty face and a good body.”

Coleen’s down-to-earth attitude extends to her own wardrobe.

While she loves to dress up for the odd glitzy showbiz event, she admits she is happiest lounging around in her tracksuit.

She says: “I love getting dressed up and wearing heels. I do like my own space when I’m getting ready so I get dressed at mine then go around to my friend’s and have a glass of wine and watch whatever reality show’s on while they get ready. It’s great.

“But if you dress up all the time it’s not so special. It’s like anything, you can have too much of a good thing.

“So I still like being at my house or running to the local shops in my trackies and no make-up.

“I don’t think that will ever change.”

Coleen’s Real Women is on ITV2 on February 10 at 9pm.

WAGs Alex Curran and Sheree Murphy took their young daughters to watch the female pop group The Pussycat Dolls before heading off to party in Liverpool on Friday.

Miss Curran, who is married to Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, was seen with four-year-old Lily-Ella as she headed to the Echo Arena for the concert.

Former Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy, who is married to footballer Harry Kewell, joined Miss Curran with one of her daughters, Ruby, five.

Boutique owner Justine Mills and her daughter also went along to the gig. Her Liverpool shop Cricket is a favourite among the WAGs, including Colleen McLoughlin.

The young girls seemed to enjoy the photographers' attention and hung back to smile.

Miss Curran later showed up at a party at the Newz Bar with Miss Murphy, but without their children.

The group's shows are popular among celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Charlize Theron, Gwen Stefani, Eva Longoria and Paris Hilton, with some even appearing as guest performers.

The Pussycat Dolls rose to fame as hot urban cabaret performers and their first single in 2005, Don't Cha, was a huge hit. They have also appeared in films such as Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.

Miss Curran and Gerrard have two daughters, Lily-Ella and two-year-old Lexie.

This week, she advised young women to think carefully before opting for breast enlargement. She had the surgery at the age of 18.

A chauffeur-driven car to the pub - must be Coleen's idea of reality [08 Feb 2009|12:59pm]

anutrina
he second series of her show, Coleen’s Real Women, starts on ITV2 this week, but it seems Mrs Rooney herself is losing touch with reality.

Despite presenting herself as the most down-to-earth WAG on the circuit, I hear the 22-year-old seems to have lost her grounding.

According to my sources at Endemol, who make the programme, Coleen is far from ‘real’.

‘It’s become a bit of a joke off set that Coleen’s presenting a show about real women. She’s on a permanent holiday.

‘She can’t stop talking about her five-star holiday to Barbados and her expensive shopping trips to New York.

'It gets on everyone’s nerves.

'She even gets taken to the pub in a chauffeur-driven car.’

Last week, I revealed that Wayne’s cousins, Stephen and Natalie Rooney, are making a spoof documentary for BBC3 called The Rooneys.

‘Coleen and Wayne are furious.

'They think they will be a laughing stock.

'They don’t talk to Natalie since she flashed her boob at Coleen’s birthday,’ says my source.

CARLY'S A £2M MAG WAG EXCLUSIVE Match 'n hatch joy for two Prem footie stars Soccer couple sign bump [08 Feb 2009|12:52pm]

anutrina
Soccer Wag Carly Zucker pops out for a coffee and flashes a sparkling £200,00 engagement ring.

Carly's England star fiance Joe Cole will have had no trouble buying the giant gem - the couple have just accepted £2MILLION for coverage of their wedding this summer.

Despite drastic efforts to keep the mind-boggling fee a secret, The People can reveal the couple have defied a tight squeeze on celebrity cash deals.

An organiser told us: "There was massive interest in landing the rights for Joe and Carly's wedding. A lot of other deals have suffered because of the credit crunch. But the money kept going up and up as rival publishers battled it out.

"Joe and Carly are seen as one of the few couples around at the moment who can really put on sales when they are splashed on a front cover."

Fitness trainer Carly, 24, sported the diamond solitaire rock - which Chelsea player Cole, 27, had specially made by a Bond Street jeweller - as she shopped near their home on London's trendy King's Road in Chelsea.

Despite efforts by a magazine to keep the £2million agreement a secret, The People can reveal the couple will wed in a civil ceremony at Chelsea Register Office on June 20.

They will then host a lavish reception and dinner at a marquee in the grounds of the Royal Hospital where the Chelsea Flower Show is held each year.

Carly and Joe (pictured below) told party planners to avoid flamboyant stately home venues.

Midfield maestro Joe - out for the rest of the season with a knee injury - also stressed to organisers how he wanted the wedding close to Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ground.

We can reveal Posh and Becks and Wayne Rooney and Coleen will NOT be invited. Among those definitely receiving invites are Premier stars Ashley Cole and wife Cheryl, John Terry and wife Toni and Jamie Redknapp and his wife Louise.

Our source added: "Carly and Joe want everything to be as tasteful as possible."
