the best little snack ever
ok...well I think so.
I'm a huge asian food fan, and the spicier the better...so I thought I would share my favourite *it's late and I've had a few drinks* snack..
glass noodles
chili/garlic sauce
red pepper flakes
hot pot soup base
3 cups water

Boil all together and when noodles are softened to your like, drain SOME not all and into the broth add House of Tsang Classic Stir Fry sauce, wasabi and some Srichan (sp?) sauce into a bowl.
Noodly goodness, and spice and salt. The only thing it lacks is some cheese :)

Sriracha, and yes, it's amazing.

As for peppers, see if you can get some dried tien tsing peppers from a chinese market or online, they're a hell of a lot hotter but have more flavor too. I use them when I make crying tiger (which is the best hangover cure in existence)

It's a dipping sauce that was originally thai but has been bastardized (not always a bad thing) all around the world. You dip thinly sliced braised meat into it- it's pretty much a staple at my house anytime I have leftover london broil or even steak.

I take about 20 dried tien tsing peppers and toss them in the little food processor. I add that to a finely diced habenero, a similarly cut clove of garlic, a teaspoon of honey, two tablespoons of chicken stock (use water in a pinch), a minced boiler onion, and a little black pepper. I toss some sriracha in for good measure, and because it can be a little thick without. Whisk the hell out of it and dip away.

I'll put some pictures on this group next time I make it. My plating isn't the best and my authenticity is terrible, but it's the best wakeup ever.

I looked it up...I'd LOVE to try that as it's shown (a grilling recipe).
I also looked at your profile...Annapolis? I love it there. Is AquaTerra still open?

I had dinner there once, during a weekend of bed breakfasting and drunkening...best dinner ever...consider these circumstances

-the chef bailed that night, so the owner was in the kitchen

-the waiter was a n00b, first night there...
buuuuut,

given that I love food and anyone who can still stick it out and rock hard gets my respect, I made the best of it, and much to my then boyfriend's amusement, I made friends with the owner, the waiter you name it...and the dinner and the wine (XY and Z zin) was lovely.
What was even better was when I was outside smoking and my boyfriend called me over, and said that there was a huge tray of on the house cordials (pour as much as you like) on the table.
Yeah that cigarette was G O N E.

if you're ever in the area again, head about 20 miles north and hit up jose andres' place, it will reinvent your world. otherwise there's a million places within like thirty miles to eat awesome food.

i'm going to go finish getting drunk now, because wednesday is the day I don't work, but feel free to add me as a friend or whatever

oh man if I could do this I'd SO be all over it...but as is, I live hand to mouth, and I don't have a grill these days.
But the next time someone grills, I'll push it on them.

you can do it with leftovers! it's not as good as with newly grilled steak though (hooray for 65 degree weather out of nowhere that lets me fire up the weber for real)

seriously...it was 60 here today after a decent cold snap. I may make some of that sauce next week just to ward off impending sniffles after the weird change in weather.
gosh I miss cooking...I think I subscribed to this community just to make me cry.
