Kahlua Pudding Pops
On November 23rd,
jenniebreeden posted a comic about making pudding pops with Kahlua. I had to try it.
I bought 4 packages of Jello Instant Chocolate Pudding, a half gallon of whole milk, a bottle of Kahlua Especial (it's got more alcohol and a much better flavor than the regular Kahlua), a package of 9oz plastic cups, and a box of plastic knives (the store I was at didn't sell popsicle sticks and I figured plastic knives would work).
I bought so much stuff because I wanted to experiment with different recipes. The regular recipe is 2 cups of milk mixed with 1 package of pudding mix. I made the following:
1. 1 cup milk, 1 cup Kahlua, 1 package pudding.
2. 1 1/2 cups milk, 1/2 cup Kahlua, 1 package pudding.
3. 1 3/4 cups milk, 1/4 cup Kahlua, 1 package pudding.
4. 3/4 cups milk, 3/4 cups Kahlua, 1 package pudding.
Due to the volumes, you end up with 2 ~9oz pops per batch. I froze them in my chest freezer which is set at about 1 degree Fahrenheit.

#1 and #4 didn't freeze much and were far too alcoholic (no pics of #4 because it's pretty much the same as #1)

#3 froze and was tasty, but didn't have enough of the Kahlua flavor.

#2 came out great.

See all the photos here.
I plan on eventually redoing the experiment with regular Kahlua since the difference between 40 and 70 proof is kinda big and I might be able to get better flavor with the lower alcohol content.
