Giffard Black Currant Flavour Syrup

I recently helped volunteer at an event for a favour to a friend, as a bartender, and ended up with a One Litre Bottle of GIFFARD BLACK CURRANT FLAVOUR SYRUP.

Any suggestions about what I could do with it?

I was thinking maybe a cheese cake and use it to make a sauce for the top, but other than that, is there anything interesting I can do to use up large quanties of it?

Also, does anyone have a good recipe for Rugelach? I had some the other day, it was AMAZING, and I'd love to make my own.

Thanks!

The first thing that popped into my head was Italian Sodas, but that's just me.

Mix with champagne for Kir Royale. Mix with water (plain or fizzy) for a cool drink on a hot day.

I worship the ground you walk on... *drool*

The cheesecake sounds amazing... use it in a steak or venison marinade, perhaps?

I'm used to the nut version which is available here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_13090,00.html?rsrc=search

There's also an apricot version which you can probably find via Google.

You could make champagne punch with it.

You could use it to marinate game, lamb or pork.

You could use it to make a different sauce for a sweet and sour pork stir fry.

You could use it to soak spongecake or pound cake or ladyfingers for trifle.

You could use it to soak spice cake layers that are then frosted with barely sweetened whipped cream or cream cheese icing.

You could use it to flavor icing or whipped cream for a cake or to fill butter sandwich cookies.

You could use it to flavor sorbet or granita. Or ice cream.

That is all I can think of off the top of my head, but I am sure there are other possibilities--oh, yeah--top waffles, pancakes, crepes or blintzes....

We made these mostly following the recipe last week and they are very good.
