OK, our Korean friends brought a Korean dish to our 4th of July BBQ. It was FANTASTIC! It was a beef dish with onions, and it was sweet and very tender, so so so tasty. I tried to ask his wife for the recipe but she said the sauce was very complicated. I took that as "secret recipe" and left it alone. ONLY YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME! They called it "boo-go-ghee" or "roo-bo-ghee" or "something ooo something oh something ghee". What was it?

MmmmMmm bulgogi! My crazy korean mom use to make that all the time. It's one of my favorite korean dishes. This is how she taugh me...

thinly sliced beef, carrots and onions. mix together soy sauce, a little bit of sesame oil, pepper, garlic powder, sugar, sesame seeds (thats the tradition korean mixture used in a lot of other dishes.) also my mom uses a tiny pinch of msg, just to bring out all the flavors, but a very very very tiny bit, not tablespoons like some take out places use. Mix liquids and spices seperate from meet and beg so you can taste and tweak everything before there are meet juices. Mix everything together and let it all hang out for a while before cooking, at least an hour but could go longer but not less than 30 mins. Sautee and serve over rice and some kimchee.

Sorry I don't have exact measurements, I always go by taste cuz I know what it's suppose to taste like. Maybe I'll make it sometime next week and try to measure everything.

Oh and I've seen a lot or recipes that use vinegar but don't use vinegar!!
