Procrastination is an amazing thing

  • Mar. 3rd, 2008 at 11:06 AM
This weekend, in an attempt to avoid working on a final paper for class, I did a whole bunch of cooking (plus four loads of laundry and dyed my hair).  The results were quite enjoyable, though I think I managed to overload on the carbs a bit.

This is what I think turned out the best: French toast and fruit, made from homemade challah

In addition to the bread, french toast, and pizza, I also made tofu biryani from How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, which I was very excited about, but it was pretty disappointing.  Not enough flavor.  I made naan, too, though, and that was pretty tasty.

Baked Chicken

I made a baked chicken tonight. I usually stuff the cavity with garlic cloves, lemons, fresh sage and rosemary. I baste with a special, secret mixture. I baste every 10-15 minutes. It makes the skin so crispy and dark.

a weeks worth of vegan food

  • Mar. 3rd, 2008 at 11:18 PM
i let my culinary creativity come out all week, as i sort of went off my diet. the result: some really fantastic tasting vegan food, including a cornicopia of vegan banana brownies !

i've also been practicing my photography. my camera is just a good quality family photo type camera so it doesn't have the special zoom features like a lot of camera's on this community. nonetheless, let me know what you think of the pictures, too. :)
