Salmon night, to be more specific. My husband and I picked up a lovely piece of Atlantic salmon at Whole Foods today, and decided to try a friend's recipe for it. :)
It's got a lovely crust of lemon zest and herbs de Provence. We just put it in the oven to roast, and will be having it with a California chardonnay and roasted baby red potatoes. The house smells absolutely divine right now.
( Take a look at that salmon. Isn't it lovely? )

Okay, this may not be food porn per se, but is presented for amusement value.
Besides,
seattlejo makes FAR better pancakes from sratch
Tonight for dinner,
seattlejo, Little Bit (my six year old daughter), and myself decided to test out new Batter Blaster, the organic pancakes from a spraycan. The reactions I've seen so far of this product range from "How lazy can you get?" to "Pancakes from a can? Welcome to 2008!".
The thing I noticed right off the back is how EASY it is to control the flow and size of the pancakes. Which lends itself to making strange and unusual shapes of pancakes. Which can be bloody hard to flip. Just imagine if one could make their own batter and put it into a can. Oh, wait, you can, it's called a pastry bag......
Tastewise, to me, they tasted decent. Kinda of sourdoughy.
As for my test subjects:
seattlejo: "Fermenty, carbonated"
Little Bit: "Good!"
Little Bit was jealous of the pancake dots that Seattlejo made with it too.

My husband picked out this recipe, Uncle Vincent's Lasagna, from foodnetwork.com. Prosciutto, smoked mozzarella, and a healthy serving of fresh basil make it something special. If you decide to give it a go, I'd suggest a little more ground meats, mozzarella, and basil. Add NO SALT anywhere in the making of it! It is delicious, but a bit expensive to make.

- Mood:
satisfied
I've just bought a box of about 10 Meyer lemons. These jewels are beautiful, and I'd like to do something special with them.
Any thoughts on desserts and/or sweet baked goods to make with these lemons?
Specific recipes would be great.
Thank you very much =D
