I don't know if this is OK for this community since it is not really a recipe but a drink.
Would you actually drink a ham-and latke-flavored soda made by Jones Soda Co.? I have heard about their holiday drinks for few years now but I have never tried those drinks.
Here is the article from CNN: Enjoy a refreshing ham soda |

Pecan-Brown Sugar & Bacon Ice Cream (from 'Seduced by Bacon')
Ingredients
3 cups heavy cream 1 cup milk 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar 4 egg yolks 1 cup chopped pecans 1 pound bacon, cooked until very crisp, blotted on paper towels and finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
Cooking Instructions
Combine the cream, milk and sugar in a heavy saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until hot and sugar is completely dissolved, stirring occasionally. In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks until smooth. Slowly whisk in 1 cup of the hot cream-milk mixture. Return the yolk mixture to the saucepan, beating constantly. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture coats the back of a wooden spoon, 6-8 minutes. Do not let it boil. Strain the mixture into a clean bowl and let it cool completely. Stir in pecans and bacon and freeze in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions. To showcase the ice cream's flavor, before serving, remove from freezer and let it soften slightly. |

| | The 'Doctor Who' theme. | ] | Yes, my friends -- Pork Cake is just what it sounds like. I collect cookbooks and this recipe is one I look for when aquiring new cookbooks. It's typically a Southern recipe, though I've seen it in the Midwest and North occasionally as well, and is related to a British recipe I've seen called Dripping Cake. This particular example comes from the handwritten recipe book made by Lydia Keeler around 1918. She gives it so:
'Pork Cake One pound of fresh fat pork, chopped fine, one pint of boiling water poured over meat, two cups brown sugar, one cup molasses, one teaspoon each of cinnamon, ginger and cloves, one whole nutmeg, grated, one pound raisins, 3/4 pound citron, 1 1/2 pound chopped nuts and enough flour for a stiff dough. Bake in greased tins for 45 minutes or longer, depending upon the size of the cake.'
Lydia's recipe is more like the British version, where pig fat is used as an economical butter substitute but other versions call for as much as a pound and a half of ground pork added to what would otherwise be a lovely spice cake. I have more detailed modern recipes if anyone wants to have a go at making it. Mmm -- this little piggy was served a la mode! |

| OMG butter makes it all better |

After reading about the recipe below by Paula Deen, this reminds me of a friend of mine who came over few months ago and she made deep fried snacks.
They all looked good until I tried one of them. DEEP FRIED BUTTER BALLS. It was nasty.
Yes, Paula Deen made that recipe.
2 sticks butter 2 ounces cream cheese Salt and pepper 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 egg, beaten 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs Peanut oil, for frying Cream the butter, cream cheese, salt and pepper together with an electric mixer until smooth. Using a very small ice cream scoop, or melon baller, form 1-inch balls of butter mixture and arrange them on a parchment or waxed paper lined sheet pan. Freeze until solid. Coat the frozen balls in flour, egg, and then bread crumbs and freeze again until solid. When ready to fry, preheat oil in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees F. Fry balls for 10 to 15 seconds until just light golden. Drain on paper towels before serving. |

| PAULA DEEN. WHY? |

Dear Universe,
There should not be such a thing as a krispy kreme bread and butter pudding. Especially one featuring tinned fruit cocktail and sweetened condensed milk. To be covered with a rum butter sauce made with a POUND of confectioner's sugar.
TOO. MUCH. SUGAR.
Behold:

2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated) 2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained) 2 eggs, beaten 1 (9-ounce) box raisins 1 pinch salt 1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Butter Rum Sauce, recipe follows
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.
Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.
Butter Rum Sauce: 1 stick butter 1 pound box confectioners' sugar Rum, to taste
Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners' sugar. Add rum and heat until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding. |
