Welcome This is a lyrical icon challenge for fans of the anime/manga, Fullmetal Alchemist. All themes are selected song lyrics which submitted icons must have included in some fashion. We would like you to join our friendly and creative competition! Please be sure to read the following rules and guidelines prior to joining, submitting, and voting. Thanks, and welcome to the community!
Rules for ParticipationAll members of the community are able to participate. Icons are limited to any image from the anime or manga which INCLUDE at least 3 consecutive words from the provided lyrics in the submission post for the current week. Fan art will not be accepted. Your submission must also be hosted by your own server - please see LiveJournal's FAQ for more info on how to host your images (Photobucket is an excellent free image server).
Icons must be:
- no more than 40 k in file size
- no more than 100x100 pixels in dimension
- be no more than 10 days old at time of submission
- meet the criteria of the current theme. Meaning, it MUST contain any 3 consecutive words from the provided lyrics
- Do not advertise your icon. Meaning, don't get your friends, family, pets to vote for you. This allows for a fair competition and gives everyone an equal chance to win. Participants are also allowed to vote for their own icon one time only a week. Meaning, you can only vote for yourself once per theme. You can't keep going back and vote for your icon under another one of your accounts.
- Lastly, all submitted icons should not be used/posted/shown to the public during the theme to which it was submitted to until after voting for that week is over. Entrants' journals are checked at random to check for this and violators will be given a warning. If not resolved, the entry will be disqualified.
Any questions about any of the rules are welcomed, just reply to any entry.
SubmittingSubmissions are accepted Friday through Friday. A new theme will be posted by its designated mod on Friday, with the ending of the previous theme being at 9 PM EST. Voting will commence after that time for that theme. Submit your icon to the theme prompt post via comments and include the following:
1. Your username
2. Your icon
3. Your icon's URL
Failure to meet all 3 criterion will result in your icon not being accepted. Submissions are always screened.
* Some themes will have the song provided for download. Please do not redistribute these files. You take all risks and responsibilities for downloading music off the Internet. Please purchase the song from a respectable and legal online distributor (like iTunes) if you wish to keep the file.
VotingAll community members are allowed to vote. Voting begins on Fridays at 9 pm US Eastern Time (estimated). Please be sure to allow for the time difference depending on where you live. Voting ends on Sundays at 9 pm US Eastern Time (estimated). All votes are screened. The voting prompt entry will outline how many icons you are to vote for.
