So. I've been working on the community since last night, lots of news.
First of all, we're on GreatestJournal now. You can check out the community and it's new layout over at floridastate, as well as all the dorm communities, apps, and players. This community would have the same layout, but come on. Paid accounts are obviously not free.
Second. As far as I know, these are the only members still left in this community: ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) benjicombs, joelpac, & chrisnorwood. I haven't heard back from anyone else, so if you still want to be involved, LEAVE ME A COMMENT. We're going to be promoting this community out the ass starting the next couple of days, so make sure you get the character you want, else it will be given away.
Uhh also now Trevor is gonna be played by myself until we find a really awesome person to RP him, but the rest of Benji's friends are open. Except for Chris. So if you want a already made character, we've still got Johnny (who has a girlfriend), Mike (who owns a tattoo shop), and Dave (who just hangs around and drinks a lot.) You can check out some of the logs they're in over at benjiandjoel, even though a lot with them in aren't up yet.
I'm trying not to make this a bible, but there hasn't been much on here for a while and I'm just trying to remember everything.

We really let this community go, that sucks of us. :(
Expect a big overhaul soon. If you still want to keep your character, comment here because Syd and I have talked and we decided it'd be best if we started over with people who actually are committed to it, including us. We seriously RP like every day but we never update our journals because it takes us like a week do to a scene and then we're way behind schedule and blah blah blah. We're lazy is what we are.
But so I was thinking of creating some characters and maybe even some journals for them and Syd and I will make the layouts and the icons and everything if you want. What I was thinking was to set up some journals with some really good PBs, we were thinking Travis Barker would be a great one for one of Benji's friends, same with Stevo from SLC Punk, and whoever else we come up with. We'd set up journals with layouts and icons and everything and maybe just give names and stuff we've already thought up about the characters, real general stuff so you guys have tons of room and then promoting the hell out of the community and getting some good RPing going on. Sound like a plan maybe? Yes, no?
So yeah, if you want to keep your character, say so. If not, no hard feelings at all, I know a lot of people sign up thinking it won't be a big deal if you never update but it's something I kind of want to get active. Some communities are crazy about rules and having you update like every 3 days and stuff, we're not looking for that because we're huge slackers too, but we want all the journals to be active so if you can't keep up with us, it'd be cool of you to forfeit your character to someone who could.
There are lots of people in here who I've never even talked to online so feel free to IM me on my screen name mando says to talk about setting up sessions or just any questions you might have about how to RP or who you'd like to be. I'm signed on almost all the time but if I'm away, just leave a message and I'll add you to my buddy list and the next time you're online I'll IM you or something, or you can IM me if you see I'm not away anymore. If anyone has any ideas of where to promote or anything, let me know about that too. As far as the Joel and Benji characters, we have a lot planned out for at least the next month and a half so we might not be able to get some big storylines with other characters for a while but I figure since it's a college, a lot of good stuff could be happening in the fall. If you're serious about starting now, I think it'd be awesome if you maybe got a friend or something who you wanted to RP with and you could have your characters both start journals now and be still living at home for the summer and coming into Florida State as freshmen or returning students or something, that way you can start RPing right away with one person and get into the swing of it and then in the fall you can meet up with other "students" like the Joel and Benji characters and whoever else is going to be staying in the RP as well as new people joining.
Anyways so yeah, if you know people who you think would be good for this, who are looking for RPGs or something and would be dedicated, let them know and IM me if you need anything.
florida_players is a community we set up for if you want to talk out-of-character, by the way, so I know there's not tons of people there right now and thus a post there probably wouldn't get answered, but once we start getting people in here, if you wanted to post there with a 'hi, I'm looking to play ________ and was wondering if someone wanted to be a _______ or a ________ with me, my screen name is _______' and etc. Just FYI.

Yeah so this is what happens when I get going. I thought that for me and Mando's sanitys sake, I'd create a application community, where all the non-members go to submit their character info and get in on the RP. If you don't get what I mean, just check out florida_apps. You don't need to add that to your friends list or anything, it's for people who aren't members already so you really don't even have to worry about it.
The second (and last, I promise) community I created was for you guys. Obviously this community is the main one, so only Mando and I post here. I created florida_players so you guys can actually talk, post questions, get some help on layouts or whatever, put in requests for RP partners (EX: "Does anyone want to start a relationship with _____?"), etc etc. You don't need to have it on your friends list, but it would be pretty cool if you could.
Alright I guess that's it. If you have any questions, I'm definately over at florida_players so post them there.
From now on, applications will be ignored unless they're posted in florida_apps and I can't promise your question will be seen and answered unless it's over at florida_players.

So Syd was actually really fucking productive tonight. I still need what I mentioned in the post below, so get that to me ASAP. I know it seems that we're all "Do this, do that," but that's just because we're just starting and trying to figure some shit out ourselves. Alright. First, I've got two things I want to talk about in this post.
1. The Website
Because it was hard to keep up with everything just in this journal, I made a website for the community. It has everything you need - student guide, teachers, guidelines, maps, links, anything you need to be apart of this community. Make sure you give it a check, because from now on that's where we're going to take care of the students list and stuff. If you check out the students page, you'll see why I need your characters picture.
2. The Dorm Communities
So I figured something that would be pretty fucking cool would be to make a community for each of the dorms. So I did. Now what I need you to do, is choose what dorm you want your character to live in (unless they live off campus) and join one of them. You can check out some info and maps on the dorms and what they are over at the site. Anyways once you get an idea of where you want to live, go to the appropriate community and submit your request to join. Once you've joined you can post whatever you want in there - talk to other characters via comments, put up wanted ads (just fucking go for it. Selling your books, want a room mate, etc), this is where you communicate with other characters without having to do six hour rp sessions. It's fun. It's good for you. Okay so the communities are as follow:

Okay before I start this post I'm putting a big old fat disclaimer on it. I'm not trying to sound like a bitch. I swear. But if it comes out that way it's cause...well sometimes I am. The end. But both me and  carry_on agree about this, and since we're the admins we're going to be whores and pull that card.
Alright first thing. We noticed some of you are making your characters older then they should be or whatever. I don't know if you guys just didn't realize it, but they should be anywhere in the range of 19-21, 22 at the absolute oldest, if you're hanging around the Benji/Joel crowd anyway. Don't you think that's creepy if a 27 year old or something is living with a bunch of younger guys? Haha I thought so. Just go by the fact Joel's 19, Benji's 20, and you should be set. We're just trying to make everything realistic here kids. Um I slipped into Benji for a second there. The fact is, if you make them too old they'll remind me of the guy in my icon. And trust me that is not good.
So. You all probably realize that both Mando and I well, we don't like Mest. Hate them even. Therefore we decided we don't want that type of thing in this RP, same as Simple Plan and all those typical things that every other RP has. That means both actually playing a guy, or just using his image. I might be coming off as a demanding bitch here, but. Well I am. The fact is I can't be really awesome and great and love you friends with someone who reminds me of Tony Lovato or Jere WhateverHisNameIs cause well that's just me. Benji's got some history with, say Trevor for example, therefore I just can't handle him being Matt. Sorry to name names, but if you want to play a Lovato that bad, there are how many other RP's on LJ, or GJ, or whatever the alternative is.
Yes this is going to be a long list, so next. In real life you don't add people to your LJ's and then meet them. Either leave a comment in someone's journal and say something like, "Hey, I've seen you around campus and you seem pretty cool. Add me?" or whatever. You can contact whoever plays the person you want to meet and set up a RP session or something if you want the characters to meet physically at school or something. Think of the opprotunities you've got with this one. Everyone has to meet before you're best friends, WITH the exception of the small group of guys Benji already knows. I know that spankthru and joelpac have already got their meeting all set out, so watch their journals and see how it goes.
Okay so all the people who still want to be involved if I didn't scare you too much, please do the following. Seriously people it's really hard to keep track of everything, so I want you to help me.
- First, fix whatever is up there if you need to.
- Add floridastate to your friends list so you can get updates.
- Remove all the players you have not yet properly introduced to yet from your friends list.
- Leave a comment here to your journal, and the name of the person you're playing.
I also want to know who's hooking up with who, if you've got a story line in mind or whatever. Let's be honest, Mando and I are not the most organized people in the world. No, definately we're absolutely not organized at all. We're not going to chase you around. If you want to be apart of the community, make sure you play by the rules or we'll kick you out. Come on. They aren't that massive of rules, we're not asking you to sell your soul or something.
Um and also? Have fun and sex and whatever you like. Just don't fuck it up. Kidding kids. Just kidding.
One last thing. This is the section of joelpac and benjicombs's RP session where we basically started making the characters that some of you are playing. Read over it, it kind of gives you some more info about your character or whatever.
This took place last weekend when Benj took Joel to be introduced to all of his friends. If any of you are having trouble choosing some images for your character, let us know. We've got some ideas as to what these guys look like too. And for real. If you're not willing to compromise then neither are we.

I'm really glad people have shown interest in this. I'm kinda obsessed with it, you have no idea. People have had a couple questions though, so I'm gonna clear up anything I can right now.

Hah okay, as you can tell I've given this way too much thought and stuff, I'm just honestly really really excited for it and think that it's going to be great and a really good time. With stuff like this you really have so much liberty to act however you want and really have fun making your character. I hope you guys love this, and thanks so much to everyone who's shown inerest, it really makes me so happy.

Just a little sidenote. If you go look at my userinfo, you'll see that in the bio section I've linked to RP characters that I play (both Joels) and their RP boyfriends. I'm going to try and do that for you guys' characters too, so when you decide what picture you'll be using as your guy, drop me a link to it here and I'll make it into a 100x100 icon for the userinfo that you guys could use as your character journal icons too if you want. Make sure the picture is at least 100x100 big though, not icon size please, so I can make sure they're all the same size, because I'm anal like that. Also make sure there's no text on it already cause I'm going to be putting the character names on them. Thanks SO much.
