For a change...

     Well, it's been quite a while since we got any good news.  US District Judge Ann Aiken has declared parts of the Patriot Act unconstitutional, specifically the idea or warrantless surveillance.  It's not immediately apparent what the government will do in response to this ruling, but if nothing else, this will set precidence for any other court cases to arise out of use of the Patriot Act.  It isn't the dramatic striking-down that I was personally hoping for (although not really expecting) but it is a start, and if it has to be destroyed a little bit at a time, then I'll be satisfied with that.
