War Czar
In the East, a new power is rising, and nothing that men or elves or wizards can do will avail against.... er.. ahem.. sorry.. Wrong story.
The US has it's War Czar, finally. It is a lieutenant-general Douglas Lute. He is apparently at least fourth down on the list Bush came up with for qualifications for the job. The three people above him on the list (three that we know of) turned down the job. Think about that for a moment. This guy doesn't even make the top three on Bush's list and everyone who has a reputation for any sort of intelligence wouldn't touch the job. Did he get the job because of loyalty or just because he was stupid enough to take it, and what does that mean for our soldiers in Iraq?
To be fair, one of the first things he said was that we need to significantly improve our counter-terrorism capabilities on the internet, which has been obvious since the creation of the internet, but at second glance, this is certainly not the administration we want to get a clue in cyberspace. Look at the trouble they've caused without knowing what they're doing. Now they won't be able to accidentally take away our freedoms..... but they might now have the will and the way to do it much more effectively on purpose.
I don't know about you, but I feel a lot safer now that we have a War Czar.
