We are renting right now and I am wanting to transition the room my two older child share into a shared nursery and get the baby out of our bedroom. This is my last baby and I have never been able to have the nursery that I want. We can't paint and what I really want is to have powder blue walls. I wallpapered in our diningroom and living room using fabric and starch. I was under the impression that at only $1 a yard, it would be quick and cheap to do. IT WAS NOT. I spent $50 on fabric and it took me three days. Long story short, I don't want to go there again. I heard about tissue paper on the walls, which seems easier to tackle but with the prying hands of a baby and a two year old, that would be torn off in no time flat. Any other ideas how I could get the feel I am looking for on a very tight budget?

Like putting blue paper of the light so the whole room looks blue?

That is a possibility... or, you could even use pale blue bulbs...

Carefully paint ONE wall the colour you want and paint it back before you move out? Or find a king size sheet the colour you want and staple it to one wall?

buy cheap blue fabric. instead of the starching, measure carefully and use a few strategically placed nails (which you could even paint blue to match!). You may only want to do one wall, but it could be a nice accent.
