i made my own coffee table!
So.... I took the top of a table I got off the side of the street, ordered tapered legs with brass feet from Ace Hardware, got kickplates from Home Depot that make them slant off to the side, spray painted the top with black chalkboard paint so that we can write on it, and now I have a neat new coffee table that my two year old can appreciate. Ta-da!

sorry, i'm commenting all over the place today, but i love your table! i love making things myself, or making something old and weird into something cool and snazzy. i also love the paint? (decals?) on your wall.

I'd love to have a coffee table like that, but my lounge room is too small for a coffee table, there is only so much space between my couch and the TV. All I use is a little wooden table that folds up... at a guess I think it's 30x40cm.

Your rug is a good size. I have been shopping around for a rug just like that but it's so hard for me to decide where to get it, exactly what I want and how to go about buying it. It's so nice to see it in a room (because I have an extra long mid century sofa and needed to see the rug in comparison to a large sofa.) Where did you get it? and is it difficult to keep clean? ( I see you've mentioned that you have children and I have cats so I need something that can withstand messy.) If you don't mind answering? How much did you pay? and what is the exact size? (I'm guessing 5X7?)
