Rule Numero Uno.
Ok, so I don't love policing community postings, but after becoming really f'ing frustrated with the bitchy attitude on saucydwellings.... I'd like to say...

If your comment to someone's posting consists mainly of "I don't like this", I will remove you from the community. I don't care if you're riding the red wave or just have a particularly nasty case of the bird flu that makes you think you can judge another person, I don't want to see you and your bad karma messing things up for other people who just want to share their homes.

Thanks.

i approve! what's most off-putting to me isn't just the outright meanness, but the condescending attitude some people over there have towards renters. "your ceiling fan! your popcorn ceiling!" i just bought my first house, but i was a *long* time renter and i have more than a modicum of sympathy for the renters out there.

it really is inappropriate.

Thank you. I don't know why that attitude continues to persist over at [info]saucydwellings, but I really wish the mods would start banning the repeat offenders.

If you don't like something or don't think it's saucy, it's actually easier to scroll past and you know...not reply. :P

Agreed- how difficult is it to just pass it by?

Someone also commented over there pointing out that first everyone complains that it's not the place for advice, but then everyone gives advice when it's not asked for, very frustrating.

Exactly! It's like they can't keep their mouths shut about their personal opinion when someone comes along to just share their space, no advice needed. But when someone has the nerve to make a post actually asking for advice - a blatant invitation to spread your personal feelings on the subject all over the comment box - few people can even be bothered to answer, and half of those that do have to bitch about how there's a separate community for that sort of thing. O_o

Why can't they just pull the sticks out of their asses and stop ruining it for everyone else?

I'm so sick of a couple of people over there whose suburan CA homes look like Ikea literally spat up all over their living rooms, bitching ad nauseum that other people's dwellings aren't saucy enough. No offense to Ikea meant here, merely offense to bitchy jerks who can't say anything nice to anyone but seem always happy to brag about their superior mid-century style.

Ahem.

Good rule.

Thank you. Sometimes I feel a little scared posting my low-income apartment in that community, afraid that I'll get flamed to death or something. I do think that's a little unfair and i think that sauce comes in all forms.

While I do like the spaces people show in that community, I'm a little turned off with the way how people are treating others there. I'm so glad that I found this community and you had enforced this rule to help others. Expect to see a few pics of my place in a month!

New here - so happy to find you, and so glad for your "policing." I can't bring myself to read the comments in saucy dwellings these days. I was there 'at the beginning'- but I wouldn't post there now.
