Partner request!
Hey, y'all. I had been partners with [info]anadamous and she has been absolutely wonderful, but due to personal reasons has had to stop participating in the challenges. I also was having a hard time, ironically at the same time she was, and had to slack off for awhile. I still exercised but no longer really kept track of whether or not I was meeting the goal for the week. However, I'm back, and ready for a new partner. I think most of you know me but since there have been some new members lately, I'll just post a bit about myself so those who don't have partners can decide if I would be a good match.

I'm a nineteen year old female student, a double major and in the honors college. I have a very busy life and school will always be my top priority, but the second thing I make time for is exercise. Unless it's a really unusual situation, I do some kind of exercise every day. My stats are 5'2.5" and 116 pounds (gained 1 pound over Thanksgiving break). While I am planning on losing the Thanksgiving poundage, I am not trying to lose weight. I do not have an eating disorder but I have some body image distortion issues that upset me sometimes.

Specifically for exercise, I run outside or on the treadmill (usually 3-5 miles per session), use the elliptical/bike on occasion (to give my feet a break from running), swim (1-2 miles per session), do floor exercises (crunches, pushups, etc) and weight train (dumbbells and machines). I'm extremely active and fairly strong for my size (I'm really not athletic, but I work hard enough that most people don't believe me).

What I'm looking for: I need a partner who will be able to commit to seven-days-a-week exercise, unless hell freezes over. However, I can be very flexible as to what constitutes "exercise." Since I'm not trying to lose weight, I tend to not focus on cardio quite so much, but if my partner would like to do mostly cardio, that's fine with me. I am thinking something along the lines of at least one or two intense cardio sessions per week, with your choice on the other days. Weight/goals/strength do not matter to me at all, just commitment. Finally, it would be lovely to have a partner who is very grounded in terms of body image and self-esteem, so as to not encourage my tendencies to get depressed about my body.

If you think you fit this description, even somewhat, and need a partner, please reply! I'm very motivated, very friendly, and very available for discussion/comments/etc.

-Azelma :)

I think it would be fun to have you as a partner! I'm a recently new member (you can see my info/description in the main page); my biggest challenge right now is attempting to find time to exercise among lots and lots of assignments, but I think having a partner would be the perfect kick in the ass necessary to really get going. I love exercise and the exercises you mentioned like treadmill (I usually jog for 20-30 minutes and enjoy high incline hiking), elliptical (I can go on that thing forever) and swimming are exercises I love. I also do DDR (Dance Dance revolution) sometimes or plain dancing cardio and really find that the bike machine is great for the legs. I have also just started weightlifting, so I'm also game for that. Anyway, please let me know if you're interested - I realize were in very different weight spaces right now, but you sound like someone who is very dedicated, organized and accessible (in terms of communication) - which is just like me! :) My email is valerie.doucette@gmail.com

That sounds great to me! I'm about to rush off to class, but you can email or IM me at Azelma.Roark at gmail dot com and EnjyJehan respectively. We can work out specific goals and things like that.

Dedication, organization, and accessibility are exactly what I want! I think we will be great.

-Azelma :)
