Six Feet Under Fiction
Characters: Brenda, Nate, OMC Genre: Pre series, het, drama, romance, deleted scene idea Rating: pg-15 (language, allusions to sex) Length: 1400 words Summary: Brenda’s chance meeting with a man of empathy on a flight into Los Angeles changes her life forever. A/N: this work of fiction assumes they land at LAX, and Brenda learns Nate’s name but not vice versa. Although I understand Nate Fisher to be a flawed and amazingly complex character, I found his empathetic streak to be quite consistent throughout the story. Constructive comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated.

Six Feet Under Fanfic - Post Mortem: 48 Hours AD
Characters: Claire/Ted Genre: Post Series Five, Drama, Angst, alternate universe Rating R (adult language, drug use) Length: 1800 words Summary: Fictional account of the forty-eight hours or so after the departure of Claire from Fisher & Diaz, focusing upon the lives of Claire, Ruth and Brenda. A/N: Just finished watching the entire five series of Six Feet Under on DVD, and have been inspired to write. It seems as though Six Feet Under is such a complete story, it doesn’t need any embellishments, but plots seem to be invading my brain. There seems very little fanfic out there for this wonderful show, so feedback and constructive criticism are always appreciated. X posted to six_feet_under

Hey guys,
For those looking to finish their collections, or pick up the whole series for under $100, check out deepdiscount.com. I've ordered from them several times before, so I consider them to be fairly reputable. Prices are good through mid-March according to the ad. |

"The Father of Embalming"
I am reading Stiff by Mary Roach right now... After the war, [Thomas] Holmes set up a business selling his patented embalming fluid, Innominata, to embalmers, but otherwise began to distance himself from the mortuary trade. He opened a drugstore, manufactured root beer... According to Christine Quigley, author of The Corpse: A History, he shared his Brooklyn house with samples of his war-era handiwork: Embalmed bodies were stored in the closets, and heads sat on tables in the living room. Not all that surprisingly, Holmes began to go insane, spending his final years in and out of institutions. At seventy, he was placing ads in mortuary trade journals for a rubber-coated canvas body removal bag that could, he suggested, double as a sleeping bag. Shortly before he died, Holmes is said to have requested that he not be embalmed, though whether this was a function of sanity or insanity was never made clear. Sound familiar? I nearly started crying upon reading that last part. By the way, this is a great book. |

Is there any place online that I can watch Six Feet Under? Where I don't have to DL episodes or anything, cuz I don't like doing that much.
Thanks in advance :) |

Hello, all.
(I apologize if this isn't appropriate, and moderators, please remove it, if so.)
For Christmas I received two versions of the complete series of Six Feet Under: one in the box with the grass on top of it, and Seasons 1 through 5 individually on DVD. Since the grass box was from my husband, I HAD to keep that one, and the Aunt got me the receipt too late to return the Season DVDs to the store for a refund! So, I am offering them on eBay, and I thought I would give my fellow SFU lovers in this community the chance to take a look at them.

First question, is this nostalgic community simply post after post of icons and fanfic as all of my other beloved entertainment interest-based communities have become, or is there real discussion?
Today, I just finished all five seasons of Six Feet Under (not SFU, every time I see that abbreviation, the first thought is "sTfu" ...)... it took me about a month and a half despite school. This was probably the most intense, thoughtful, well made show I have ever seen in my entire life. I don't have a real point with this post, I just wanted to say hi. ( Spoilers? :::: ) |

So I came across this fun interactive video about Six Feet Under. I guess it was being made for HBO a few years ago but then they discontinued it. It's pretty cool, but they stop 3/4 through the third season with the updates.
Check it out HERE
Sorry if this has already been posted here.
