Jayne Hats for Charity?
The Austin Browncoats are going to Dragon*Con and we want to sell as many Jayne hats as we can. Of course, all money goes to charity. :)

Are you interested in making some hats for us? Every hat matters, so even one would help us out.

Email me for the pattern and yarn that is recommended. Or talk to Claudia at claudia@austinbrowncoats.com.

If you're interested, let us know how many hats you think you could finish by August 20th? Thank you all for your help.

And here I just finished up for Comic-Con...

Can I repost this to [info]bigdamnknitters?

I thought I'd worn myself out knitting hats for ComicCon, but I bet I can whip up another two or three before the deadline. Can you post the materials and directions here? Or on BigDamnKnitters?

We use:

Lambs Pride Bulky in Sunburst Gold, Autumn Harvest and Rust.

As for the pattern, my local knitters use a slightly modified version of this pattern: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=19076.20

But, there are many variations of Jayne Hats, so whatever you used for Comic Con would work for us, as well, if that pattern and yarn is more easily accessible.

Would you welcome crocheted hats? If so, I'll post it on my Jayne hat pattern.

Sure - the more hats, the merrier.

How much are you charging for the finished hats?

I really want a Jayne hat. Real bad. Unfortunately I'm not going to Dragon*Con, but I have a friend who is, so I'm considering calling her up and asking if she'd pick one up for me. Will there be an Austin Browncoats booth set up somewhere?

We can ship one to you.

They are $30 + shipping.

Hmmm. I'll see if my friend wants to pick it up for me at Dragon*Con, that way I won't have to pay shipping. Thanks!

I saw a link to this on Whedonesque. I happen to be going to Dragon*Con, so I can deliver my offerings personally. I can definitely commit to making 2- if I make more, I'll bring them with as a bonus. Is that agreeable?

Works for me!

:)

We are sharing a booth with the SEBC's. And my email is beth@austinbrowncoats.com if you want to exchange phone info. :)
