button crisis... calling the frock coat makers
So I thought these PLAIN BORING DOME buttons would be no problem...  Except they are, I can't find anything ANYWHERE...  Does anybody have a magical button source that I could check for these? Just 3/4 inch domes, but pretty sticky uppy.  There's nothing at Joann...  The only thing domey enough that I know so far are those leather weave buttons, which I will resort to in a pinch...  Under temporary insanity maybe I could make a mold out of something and try resin... would that be ridiculously stupid?  I need 22.

OMG. SHOES.
Target is made of win!!!!

And they all come in lots of colours.  And there're a bunch of pinup kitty platform peep-toes as well....  I wish I had a Kelly icon...  And a bucket of money to go buy shoes at Target....  Although I will say - buy moleskin there as well.  I basically have to line the heels and toes of Target shoes with the stuff or risk a permanent limp....

Le voiture, il a volé
Several years ago, my aunt's husband and I were chatting at a family get-together. We got on the topic of cars, as he's a mechanic and I like things that go VROOM. Suddenly, he leaned over to me and said, "Never let your aunt drive drunk."

I stared at him for a long moment, then nodded, saying, "Good rule in general. Any specific reason?"

The rest of the conversation went like this:

Him: You know [Local] High School?
Me: Yes.
Him: You know the columns outside [Local] High School?
Me: Yeeeeeeeees?
Him: Did you know you can fit a Camaro between those columns?
Me: .......
Him: AT SEVENTY MILES AN HOUR???
Me: !

I tell you this to explain my reaction on my drive home tonight. See, there's this hill. And if you hit that hill at just the right rate of speed, you can catch some air at the top before dropping down the blind side of it.

Tonight, I got a good run-up, came flying over the top of the hill at around ninety, and MISSED THE DEER ON THE ROAD BY ABOUT FIVE FEET.

Most people, I'm going to guess, would react with HOLYSHITOHMYGODILIVED.

Me?

No.

My reaction?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE - HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Clearly, the madness is genetic.

"Misery."
Title: Misery
Author: [info]hola_meg_a_cola
Pairing: House/Cuddy
Rating: R
Summary[info]cuddy_festprompt #114. Cuddy/House: Late night TV-watching.
Setting: Before the season 4 finale.
Author’s Notes: I had written a House/Cuddy fic before where they would drink and watch soaps, so when I saw this challenge, I knew I had to write it. Also, I know House watches “Passion Prescription,” but dammit, I love the idea of them watching General Hospital.

Yuck~
So my laptop's charger took a shit, and rather than waste the last 10% of its energy, I'm on the living room computer.  My uncle, aunt, and cousin are up, and tomorrow, before work at 5 pm, I'm going to Best Buy with Bri (my cuz) and see if I can get another one since I'm covered under warranty.

I've been so busy lately, what with school and work.  I haven't finished my stuff for [info]cuddy_fest, and I can't do them now since it's saved on my laptop (I was too lazy to save it to my flash drive.)  So, I'll probably finish them on Sunday before I have work.

Speaking of Sunday, Mad Men premeries while I'm still at work.  Hopefully, they'll reshow it at 11 pm, when I'm at home and doing Japanese homework.

Next Friday I'm going to the release party for "Twilight."  It's not that I'm dying to read it, but it's something fun to do with Cathy.  So I'll be working until 6 pm, then shower, then head off to Borders outside of the mall.  So in return, I'm closing on Saturday night.

BTW, I SAW "THE DARK KNIGHT" LAST NIGHT, AND IT WAS FUCKING POWERFUL.  I didn't want to be one of those people who were all "FUCK THIS IS THE GREATEST MOVIE EVAR, HEATH LEDGER DIED FOR THIS" but everything was fabulous about it.  I mean everything.  I had to call my dad after the movie and tell him how good it was while Andrew told his brother.  The Joker provided me with so many lulz, it was fantastic.  I'm going to see it again next Sunday with my dad and Ray.

I'm going to go and warm up garlic knots now and lurk moar.

EDIT: I'm just restarting all my stories for [info]cuddy_feston here.  I'll be up for awhile, which is AWWWWRITE.

Muwahahahaha!
The Dungeon Keeper 2 CD has been unearthed.

Oops. Say goodbye.

There are some hysterically funny videos on YouTube about DKII and even DKIII, the game that never was but so should have been.

Go sign the petition to make it so! Here: http://www.petitiononline.com/k33p3r/petition.html

a few notes on tonight's practice
a lot of girls were at an event downtown, or not at friday practice so there were only about 12 of us. it was totally as awesome as the other practices for different reasons. i got a lot of great feedback, kicked my ass completely, and GOT TO SCRIMMAGE! as funny as it sounds, for all this practicing i'd never skated in a jam before. it was fun, confusing, and exausting. i played every position except pivot, got my first penalties (minors only) and i even earned lead jammer! now, i didn't score any points due to my exhaustion keeping me from catching the pack, but still!!

i busted my ass on a few good falls too. we did a lot of drills for stuff i had been anxious about - things like wheel locking (exactly what it sounds like, skating in a pack and locking skates on purpose with the others around you) and some fun blocking. i almost broke my glasses, which makes me get serious about needing a new pair of glasses or contacts, and i had an ass-kickingly awesome time.

was i the slowest? yea. was i better than last week? yea. :) i can't wait to get even better!

i'm trying to work out 5 days a week, counting practices as working out (man are they). it's ambitious, and i haven't met the goal each week, but i've done pretty well over the last three. weeeee.

Listen Close to Everybody's heart, and Hearing that Breaking sound...
I completely and totally admit that when I find a musical... I become addicted... especially if said musical has great singers in it. Now the word 'musical' is used not in the normal form in what I'm referring to now though. Dr. Horrible.... that's right, Joss Whedon's new internet phenomenon. Wow.

Joss (and his family) write the BEST songs. I swear. I can't stop listening or watching Dr. Horrible. I usually download everything... er I mean... well not this time. I (well I had my boyfriend) paid for the iTunes download! I fully support Joss in this. And NPH!!! OMG! His voice is amazing! I saw his 'Sweeney Todd: in Concert" performance on youtube. He made a great Toby... Ironically he seems to make great crazy people >_>

I wish I could have the opportunity to sing in random shite like this. One of those little wishes that will never come true. Ha!

So Bekki and I are making up our own Super Villains and we might cosplay as them at Youmacon. >_< I like creating characters.

Today is the first day of the week I'm not heading over to Alyssa's, mainly because she's at a birthday party for a friend and the only reason I'm not going to *that* is because they booked the reservation for the restaurant forever ago before they knew me. She's heading to a baby shower tomorrow and is dropping off her keys with me tonight so I can go over tomorrow and play with her kitty!!

I also get the keys to my new apartment on Saturday and I'm very very excited. I will bring some of the smaller things I can move with me when I walk over there and will try to head over everyday next week to slowly begin moving all of my stuff. Once I'm settled, the first order of business is obviously going to be buying food and water dishes and a litter box for the kitty I will be getting ASAP. I will likely get the food dish that feeds the kitty automatically at some specified time so that I don't have to worry when I am away at faire or some such as well as a water jug-type water dish so that it will always have plenty to drink. I contemplated the self-cleaning litter box, but I'm not  THAT lazy and it shouldn't need to be cleaned every single day.

Alyssa and I went down to the Berkeley Animal Shelter on Wed. to look at some of their kitties, but I didn't find any that just screamed TAKE ME HOME. But, this is good since I can't get a kitty until Martin goes with me, anyway, so that we can make sure they like each other. I am already plotting ways to be able to take my kitty with me to his house and, assuming he is well behaved and clean and not a complete spazz, it looks like this has a very good possibility of happening. The cat I mean, not Martin. I will try not to get my hopes up too high on this, however, because it very well might not work out. :/ Also, asking the shelter if they declawed cats there got me the best look EVER. I swear, they looked at me like I asked them what the best temperature to cook cat was. It's great and all that you're so passionate (a.k.a. psychotic) in your beliefs, but some people just need to have a declawed cat. The person with the awesome air mattress, yea, that would be cause for declawing, thanks.

Also, Otis is NOT a retarded kitty's name, his eyes aren't going to immediately start crossing as soon as I name him, and he will not be walking into any walls. :( He will, however, be black and white so that he may look like a cow because I always wanted a cow named Otis, and I don't think I can fit a cow in my apartment.

Now, I am off to undo the pleats in my gray skirt AGAIN, this time making sure it is much smaller than my natural waist so that I can lace it firmly closed once I get the waistband grommeted. Hopefully, this won't make my current gray bodice even larger on me. I swear that thing fit perfectly when we finished back in April, now I have to lace it all the way closed and then some to make it fit properly. Dear self, if you insist on losing weight, please do so in not inconvenient places.

Clockwork and Cholera 'test'
http://www.helloquizzy.com/tests/the-aetherist-bodger-test

Not as pleased as I would like to be with this.  It lacks the 'wahoo!' spirit I wanted but the actual story lacks the 'wahoo!' spirit.  I don't think this will be as popular as the first quiz.

Well! I saw quite the bit of drugs, guns, and UK accents today. XD

I watched Snatch, Trainspotting, and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels--in that order. I may have liked them in that order as well. XD Definitely liked Snatch the best. :D I might want to see RocknRolla when that comes out... Dunno.

Really, after all this testosterone, all the more I want to see Mamma Mia even by myself. ._.;

Sexy. XD

And I have to actually rest early tonight--I've got work at 8 @_@ Luckily my shift isn't too long. :) I can't wait until I have the money/paychecks enough to pay my mom back so I can, well, have money...

went to the endo
Went to my endocrinologist today. He changed my meds around again, upped some, and put me back on my insulin for at least a month.

He was very happy about my 25 pound weight loss, though.
