Have you ever wanted to participate in a lims icontest but didn't want the pressure of an elimination? Would you like a chance to participate in a full round of challenges with no chance of being eliminated? If so, welcome to firefly_rumble!

We'll have sign-ups for each round. Each round will consist of 10 challenges. Members vote for their favorite icons and the scores keep adding up. There will be winners after each challenge and an "overall" winner for the entire round.

Round 2 Sign-Ups are now CLOSED, but please feel free to stick around and watch the community to participate in the voting. We'd love to have you!

Remember, Round 1: Challenge 9 has been posted. Also, Challenge 10 is going to be a free for all (anything goes) so feel free to get a jump start on it (the "official" challenge post will go up over the weekend).

Rules

• Vote for your 3 favorite icons. Remember, you are voting on the quality of the icons.
  
• Also vote for the 1 icon you think best meets the requirements for this weeks special category. It's okay to pick an icon you've already voted for above. The special category this week is 'Most Creative Cap.'
  
• Please leave a comment stating why you chose that particular icon for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and SC. Comments are optional, but it really motivates the participants. These comments will be made available to icon makers after the results are posted, if requested.
  
• Incomplete votes will not be counted.
  
• You do not need to be a participant to vote, but anonymous votes will not be counted.
  
• Don't vote for yourself, but I highly encourage you to get your friends to come vote - just don't tell them which icon is yours. :D
  
• You MUST vote to win.
  
• Votes will be submitted through screened comments.
  
• Voting is weighted as follows: 1st = 3 pts; 2nd = 2 pts; and 3 = 1 pt. These totals are added to determine challenge winners. SC votes are tallied separately.

Sorry I forgot to post this right after the voting. Speaking of voting, Challenge 7 voting is still open for another 10.5 hours or so. Also, I'm heading out of town tomorrow so I may not post results from that challenge until Tuesday. Sorry about that!

• Only ONE icon per participant is to be submitted.
  
• Icon must meet LJ Standards (100x100, 40kb or less, .png, .gif, or .jpg).
  
• FOR THIS CHALLENGE, you must find your own caps. We recommend caps by _jems_ who offers both Firefly and Serenity caps.
  
• No animation. Brushes, textures, blends, and text are all fine.
  
• Since this is an anonymous community, please do not display your entry anywhere until the voting results are posted.
  
• Post your icon and its URL as a comment to this post. All comments for this post will be screened.
  
• NEW(isH) RULE: If you prefer not to have your submitted icon featured on our profile page (if it places), please leave a comment 'opting-out' that icon. This will apply for all future submissions.

Special Category: This week's special category is 'Most Creative Cap.' Since you are picking your cap this challenge, the special category will go to the most creative cap choice. Remember, you do not have to make an icon specifically for this category; it's just an option.

You voted for it, so here is THE CHALLENGE: The icon must be black and white with a single object colored. I know we've all seen them, but here are some examples:

(colored text is OKAY if it is the same color as the object)
ETA: If the object you are leaving colored has more than one color in it (say a multi-colored shirt), that's fine - just so long as it's only one object/piece of the icon that has color.
