Looking for caps...
I'm looking for screen caps from the extended Firefly gag reel. I have the file on my computer but sadly it's not in a format I can cap from.

Anyway, I'm specifically looking for the part when Alan, Nathan, and Gina are standing together with the moustaches on. Can anyone help? :)

There's always the caps at Can't Take the Sky. They've got images from every episode as well as the special stuff off the DVD set.

Hehe, no. Still-flying.net does have the deleted scenes, though, just not the gag reel. I checked again after you posted the link to make sure I didn't miss them entirely or something. :)

If by "a format I can't cap" you mean you've tried to screencap (prt scrn button on keyboard) while it's running in Windows Media Player, it's a common problem people have and is just a matter of turning down your acceleration. Tools > Options > Performance > Low (Slide the bar all the way to the left), it will restart the clip and then you can screencap from it, proceeding with the paste function in any photo editing program..

Just in case you can't find someone with the cap, hope this helps.. :)

I have it as an MPEG-4 so it opens in Quicktime. Does Quicktime have a similar function? I usually use Windows Movie Maker but it only loads AVIs.

I'm not sure about Quicktime, I rarely use it. Most of my media files I play on VLC, which is a lovely program that plays -just about- and type of file with no need to download codecs etc. Its free to download, and has a snapshot (screencap) function.

You should be able to use Media Player Classic (google it), a derivative of older versions of Windows Media Player and you can take screencaptures with it. (file>save image)

I'm sure you can just ctrl-c in quicktime, and then paste it into a new file in photoshop.

It's how I did the Serenity gag-reel before the DVD came out

*g* Thanks! I've had the idea in my head since I saw the episode where Simon was saying he was going to grow out a big, black moustache because he's a traditionalist and then saw the gag reel. Just needed to get the gag reel on my computer and figure out how to cap it. :)

Hmm this is the normal ones not the extended. Better quality than what I've seen, though. It has the part with the moustaches, but it doesn't continue to when the three of them are standing together.

Still snagging those, though. I love some of those scenes!

That link has the video of the extended gag reels, but I dont have screencaps. Its not the greatest quaility but its the only place I have seen the extended blooper reel. Hope that helps.

You can also get the video from the Google Video website. All you need to do is search "Serenity" or "Firefly" and a whole bunch of related hits will pop up, including the extended gag reel :o) They actually have an interesting selection of clips available.
