firebird_ascend is a Harry Potter RPG, which began set three years after the events of the sixth book, in June 2000. The game has been running since June 2006 and runs in "real time".
The young witches and wizards that Harry came to know at Hogwarts struggle to find their place in the world, and in the war, wounded by their own losses; parents, siblings, friends have been lost. None will forget the deaths of Ginny Weasley and Malcolm Baddock in the halls of Hogwarts itself, when the illusion of safety was ripped from the last great haven of childhood by Death Eater attack.
Following the death of Dumbledore, Harry has left Hogwarts to continue the last task that Dumbledore laid on his shoulders; to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes. Hermione Granger has abandoned her education and Ron Weasley has defied his family to follow Harry and help him at his task. Research is long and difficult, but they have found and destroyed the Cup of Helga Hufflepuff and the Locket of Salizar Slytherin. Ron was injured during the destruction of the Locket, with unforeseen consequences -- a talent that may not be trustworthy, or that may mean the difference between victory and defeat.
Now the war rages on, and two Horcruxes remain.
Despite the divisions between the forces of light, the Army of Darkness must be resisted in order to salvage a world worth living in when the war is finally ended. Despite mistrust, danger and confusion, the remaining Horcruxes must be destroyed. Only then can The Chosen One face the Dark Lord with any chance of securing victory.
Only then, can there be hope.
