Photo Etch Resist

Greetings,

Have any of you tried out this photo etch resist kit for inkjet printer?
Think champleve or poesy rings, for instance.

The reason I ask is this: I use laser-printed PNP-blue transfer paper for fine-line etch resist. When I iron it onto copper or brass sheet, PNP adheres only where I want it to adhere. Other etch resist media I've tried adheres and must be cut away with an exacto knife, requiring hours of meticulous, steady-handed work. I'm hoping Micro Mark's photo etch resist adheres only where I want it to.

cross-posted to metalsmithing metalsmiths fire_enamel jewelrymakers

Goddesses (?)

Today I came up with a new design (faces) to put on my "good luck" copper pendants. On the front, around the edge I stamp the words, "Love, Wisdom, Health, Peace, Courage, Joy, Success" and on the back it says, "Stay Open to All Good Things". I have done these with a variety of foil punched out shapes before and thought I would try some faces. I used Carefree Luster as the final step to define the halos. They are 1 1/4" diameter.

Intro

Hello!
I am a lampwork artist from California. I took a short enameling class years ago and loved the art of it but I didn't get a real good vibe from the people in the class. I am tentatively thinking of trying it again, this time on my own. I have a kiln- a smallish wax burnout kiln I used once or twice for another application. It has a pyrometer, but no controller. Is a controller necessary for enamaling? Enameling is all I would do with this kiln as I use a different kiln for my other projects.
Since I already have a kiln, how much should I expect to spend on starting out? I am thinking in terms of small copper dishes at the moment but I would love to eventually enamel on silver.

Hello.

Since I just joined, and read the community information, it seems as if I should introduce myself and say why I joined.

It only recently occurred to me that there might be other enamellists on LJ. Why it didn't occur to me sooner, I'll never know.

I've been very ill for years, and haven't enamelled for a while. However, I will soon. And I'll be re-doing my website, which isn't very good right now. However, it's all I've got right now, and here it is: http://www.ladycaviar.com.

I hope to have new pictures of some different work, and hopefully (!) new work, over the next year.
