n4t4l14 @ 09:46 am: Learning with Disney
Hei,

Sorry about the slow posting of the lessons, been kind of busy and lessons have been getting more complex. So whilst I get the next lesson done I wanted to leave you something that could be useful, Disney films in Finnish ;)

I propose a listening exercise, transcribe what you hear.

There are lots more, some of them already have subtitles and even translations.

n4t4l14 @ 12:33 pm: Next lesson
I thought I better mention that I am working on getting the next lesson ready, just in case anybody is desperatedly waiting to get some more Finnish knowledge ;)
Hopefully in the next couple of days but I am in the middle of moving houses so things might be a bit slow for the next month or so, that is the next few lessons might come at a slower pace..depending on ISPs and all that, so it'll be if and when I can.
Thanks for the patience.

oviaukko @ 08:02 pm: Lesson 17: where to? (mihin?, minne?)
Hello people! And welcome back to learning Finnish. Our summer holiday is up and it's time to get back to work.

Now, I believe the plan was to post a lesson every two weeks as they're becoming harder and more complex as far as the grammatical concepts to grasp go. And that is exactly what we're going to do. But do not be alarmed! We're still here and will try our best ever to give you the time and the support you need to reach your ambitious goal of learning Finnish. By now we all know it's just as difficult as it first seemed. Hehe.

Enough rambling for now, here's your new lesson. Enjoy! And enjoy the summer for as long as it lasts! (or the winter if you're on the southern half of the Earth)

Most sincerely, your mods and Finnish gurus,

Heidi & Nat

oviaukko @ 03:34 pm: Summer holiday!
Nat noticed that Lesson 16 (parts 1 to d) is a bit of a revision lesson and so we (Nat and I, lol) thought it'd be a good time to make a brief stop and let people do some revision, before we add new lessons. Specially since we seem to have lost a few people along the way and also with summer coming up it is less likely people can be constant with something like this.

As an aid to revise I'd like to propose an exercise which I think will help allowing the vocabulary to settle in and strengthen an important part of Finnish learning, case declension.

The idea is to go through the lessons, take the nouns and adjectives and make the partitive form for them...Also for verbs do the conjugation of the present form and if you like the past simple too.

So, for now there'll be a 3 week break and then until the end of the summer, lessons only every other week.

Have a good summer everyone and if there are questions on the material covered so far don't hesitate to ask.

Your mods, Nat and Heidi
