I LOVE this movie. I saw it late one night on cable about ten or fifteen years ago for the first time and I've seen it a couple of times since. It's a great little gore flick and great campy fun.

i loved this movie as a kid. it was yucky. you immortalized one of my favorite scenes in all horror, with the bathtub scene. being sucked through a bathtub drain must suck. whoa.

it's a sink drain, not a bathtub.
there is no bathtub scene in this movie.

i guess my memory served me wrong on this one, it has been ahwile since i've seen this, but it's all pipes. bathtubs, and sink drains. they all go the same place and they all contain the blob so all is not lost.

yes.

but the scene is held at the restaurant's kitchen, so there is no bathtub around :)

it is the cook who is trying to unclod the sink drain and gets sucked thru the pipes.

Although I didn't care for the "reimagining" of the title creature (it fires out tendrils to snag prey now), this was a great stomach-churner; deaths that are painful-looking, gross, and disturbingly convincing, yet just unrealistic enough (in that they aren't caused by some kook) to avoid the sort of disgust I feel in the presence of torture-porn. Plus, like Tremors or Slither (but unlike the awful Deep Rising), the characters are likable enough to give a fart about.

i loved deep rising - treat willimas had a handful of great one liners and his hair looked great. famke jannsen looked great altogether :)
