Lovely stills. Argento puts the gore in gorgeous. I hate that they're remaking this.

They are not remaking it. There were vague plans to do so, but the whole thing has been blown off.

Although visually it's incredible, it's also astoundingly bad. I couldn't sit through the whole thing.

Usually films with this kind of badness have an unintentional funny to it to keep you watching, but I didn't find any.

Perhaps I owe it another viewing? I don't know.

Bad in the way a lot of bad 70's European (Italian) horror is bad.... I think that if it weren't visually stunning, I'd watch it and enjoy it for its badness. But because it's visually so stunning and people went on and on and on about it that I expected more from it, I think.

So, the badness is in the really bad acting, everything being totally contrived, nothing making any sense. It lacks plot, characters you care about, etc. Usually those things make me happy because of their badness, but for some reason I found them in this movie to be intolerable. I couldn't finish watching it.

I've enjoyed those same qualities for their badness in other movies, so perhaps there's something else to it, I don't know. I just found it incredibly boring, and the visual parts, though beautiful, were too static for me, if I recall correctly.

I'd like to watch it again, though, and see if I don't have a different reaction. Everyone gushes over this movie so much that I think that maybe I saw it while in a bad mood or while I had indigestion or something.

the acting is awful and its one of those movies where if they didnt drag it on, it could probably last about 30 min.

i found myself thinking the same thing the first time i saw it.
the story was so disappointing and nonsensical, i couldn't help but feel underwhelmed.

it doesn't get much better upon second viewing, but i find i appreciate the aesthetic of it more.

The blood was SO red in this film and I hated the scene where the girl got trapped in the wire. It hurt just to watch her try to get out.
