The book is even worse. It makes you loose all faith in humanity.

It such a good book tho.

God, I loved this movie. I hated her stepfather. I was so glad when her family beat him up. Her mother was so spineless for too long.

Read the book earlier this year... it's such a good book. Brutal, but good. For some reason, I don't have much desire to watch the movie, but your stills are nice!

The book was so good that the movie was disappointing.

That's kind of what I figured. But the girl they got to play Bone looks like she could definitely do that character well, she's got the "mean little streak" look.

The casting was really well-done. The movie definitely "looked right." I would have liked it more had I not read the book just before watching, but I still liked it.

I had just spent a year living in the South when I read that book (I live in San Diego), and had driven through the Carolinas several times... had the book on my shelf for years but never got around to picking it up until I got back to California. Reading the book was almost... nostalgic. I don't know if you can be nostalgic about things only a year later, but hey.

I may try to catch the movie if it's on sometime, seen it listed in the past.

No, I can imagine. I grew up in Oklahoma- not the same, but close enough. I always watch the movie version of books I've read, even though I almost always am disappointed, but for some reason the curiosity always gets me.

I only heard about this film because it was mentioned quite a few times when the controversy about Dakota Fanning's rape scene was everywhere. Apparently it plays on Lifetime often.
