I must've been really young, because all I can remember from this movie is the AWE.

It's an ok movie, but a sad travesty of the original book. Sphinxes shooting green rays out of their eyes? And Bastian was supposed to be fat, goddamn it!

oh man, the sphinx part in particular terrified me when i was little.

I agree, after reading the book years later, it was hard to live up to.

Ha... this reminds me of a Simpsons episode when Homer sues an all-you-can-eat buffet restaraunt for not letting him have all he can eat. THe lawyer says he hasn't had a case like that since someone sued the Neverending sotry for ending.

Oh man, this was my absolute favourite movie as a kid. I was TERRIFIED of Gmork.

Thanks for not posting Artex sinking. Then I would have been the crazy girl crying at her desk.

Rockbiter's monologue absolutely kills me every time I've seen it: They look like such good, strong hands.

So tragic.

also, never watch the Neverending Story 2. or 3. unless you are still a small child.

One of the many great visual films of the 80s... I especially like the one with the cross fade on the two protagonists and the one where you froze Barret Oliver pulling his tongue... Thank you for all that!
