i had a dream i was living the shining - it was even more terrifying if you can believe it (especially the part with the ax in the bathroom)

Kubrick's movies are always simultaneously easy to cap (because they're visually composed so well) and hard (because they're so great it's hard to pick!).

*shudder* One heck of a spooky film. That lady in the bathroom.... ughgghghg! Thanks for posting though; it's a real classic.

You're welcome!

The lady in the bathroom is so ghastly and grotesque I actually end up laughing whenever I see it-- sort of a weird defense/nervous mechanism, I guess. I do the same when Jack is chopping the bathroom wall down-- Shelly Duvall's shrieking, convulsing face is so freaking terrifying I can't do anything but laugh.

shelley duval is so horsey looking.

I do love this film though, even though it's not very much like the book--the mini series was much closer

I loved this movie, but wish Kubrick had taken the final step and just given it a different title.

I also enjoyed the mini-series...but be careful: Kubrick fanboys scream and yowl and foam at the mouth at the mere mention of it.

That cap of Duvall holding the knife in front of the red wall is fantastic.

You know, she gets a lot of flack for her performance in this, but I think she's just awesome.

I think of all the caps, that red wall one was my personal favorite ;)

And I really enjoyed her performance as well, she was perfect for the character. They could have easily chosen an actress a little more "Hollywood" looking but she is completely convincing.
