| About: | The purpose of this community is to provide a place to store and share the lyrics of filk songs. The author of the song must approve the sharing of the lyrics, or the postings will be removed by the moderator. To start, I will restrict the songs to ones written by the people on rec.music.filk's Blanket Permission list (See http://www.kayshapero.net/filkblan.htm for the current version, and note especially the people who have specifically requested that their songs *not* be posted. If a song's author chooses to use a Creative Commons license that permits sharing it, that will also suffice. Note also that if you want to do anything with a song found here other than print out a copy for your own personal use, you must contact the author to make arrangements. In the future, I think that it would be good to come up with standards for entry, to facilitate doing more advanced things with these songs eventually. Some standardized way to indicate parts of the song (verse, refrain, etc), the tune, the author, and so on would be handy. Right now, I don't have the time to do so, and collecting the texts is a good start. | |
