| This is San Francisco, also known as Fog City, or the City by the Bay, home of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, the cable cars, the Transamerica Pyramid, Coit Tower, and Chinatown. Surrounded on three sides by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, and renowned for its' steep rolling and hilly geography, the city is decorated throughout by Victorian and modern architecture, standing as both an artistic and economic testament to modern times. However for all of its' aesthetic surface appeal, a darker underside has not gone unforgotten by its' residents. The undercurrents of crime are no longer remaining sublevel, and every day it seems the city is slipping further and further into the hands of criminals... ...one such criminal being a mysterious man by the name of Tyler Durden, the enigmatic owner of the San Francisco organized Fight Club, and subsequently the very same man who funds the Durden Institute of Higher Learning, though publicly it would seem it is not orchestrated by the same man. Little is known of Tyler Durden's motives for Fight Club, but it seems new members of this very secret coalition are recruited every day. All of the characters involved are fictitious, as is the fabricated Durden Institute College. The game's plot revolves around the residents of San Francisco - the players of the game - and the events that occur within their lives, and occasionally without. |

| For the purpose of the game, the character Tyler Durden will not actually be a playable person, but an NPC that all three of the mods use for moderator posting purposes and in game updates. |
| Game Rules |
| 1) 15 and over, ONLY. This is a serious game with adult themes; such as violence, sex, drugs, and death. We're not here to baby-sit you. By applying to this game / reading this rule, you waive any rights you may have had against us. 2) No original characters. At all. Ever. 3) No OOC drama. Got a problem? Talk to us. 4) Respect the mods. We are not over-ruling dictators (we think) but we are in charge. If you want us to respect your opinions concerning the game and your characters, you have to respect ours. 5) No God-moding/God modding. The difference between these are very huge. God-moding is a character with the supernatural ability to, say... never get hit. Or to always get a hit in. God-modding is when a player uses their OOC knowledge of another person's character in the IC game. Neither are acceptable. 6) STAY. IN. CHARACTER. While this is an A.U. setting, we'd like to keep canon personality traits in mind. It's understandable if some things are different. For example, Sasuke's family could have still all died-- but not have been slaughtered by Itachi. This would greatly affect his relationship with his brother. 7) USE. PROPER. ENGLISH. Proper grammar and typing is a must. Spell-check is your friend. Even Livejournal and google have them. There is no excuse. 8) Put effort into your writing. One-liners make us cry, but four paragraphs of endless drivel can be just as bad. Keep in mind that we're trying to keep this entertaining for everyone-- so try to write with readers in mind. 9) Stay active. This cannot be stressed enough. You must stay active, or your character will be taken away from you. We understand if you have to take a break for family, medical reasons, acts of god, your fingers falling off, whatever. But we need to know or we will assume you have lost interest in the game. 10) IC =/= OOC. Players and characters are two separate entities. Someone doesn't hate you just because their character does. People don't necessarily like you just because their character is nice to yours. 11) Post in your character's journal at least once a week. Gaps between posts are two weeks at maximum. After two weeks you are considered inactive. After one warning of inactivity, you will be booted from the game. If your character is somehow unable to post due to some IC reason such as kidnap or psychological abuse, make a post concerning that OOC. 12) Three characters MAXIMUM. The process for taking up characters is very important. You may apply for your first character right away, and, if accepted, must wait a month to get your second. This is so that the mods can see you are interested in the game and plan to stay active. You may reserve the second character of your choice for the entirety of your trial month. However, if we feel you cannot manage a first character properly, such as excessive OOCness or inactivity, you will not be allowed a second one until you clean up your act. 13) The game is set in real-time. March 10th is March 10th in game and outside of it. Logs can be backdated to a previous day, or future-dated to compensate for players needs, but no more than a week or so. Once again, we're not gonna get on your ass about this unless it's really ridiculous. 14) Be discrete. Any adult-themed (NC-17, etc) posts, or posts over three paragraphs are to be put behind a cut. 15) Turn off anonymous commenting. Make sure all your posts are public, not friends only. 16) Play nicely. Please. For God's sake. Or whomever else you may believe in. We want to make sure this is fun for everyone. Just because someone who plays a character in your OTP doesn't support that pairing doesn't mean it's the end of the world. 17) No OOC pairings. Explain them, develop them, make sure they make sense. No instant boyfriends/girlfriends/best friends. This means that some characters that are friends canonly may not have met yet, and can start at the beginning. Or if you don't happen to like the friendship, you don't have to go along with it. 18) No pregnancy/rape plots. Any overly-wangsty/ dramatic plots must be run by the mods first. 19) PBs (Portrayed by images) are required. For those of you who don't know, "PB" is an abbreviation for "Portrayed By". It's when you play a fictional person in a roleplaying game, but use a picture of a real person to portray them-- as if they're filling a role in the cast of a movie. ie: The role of ____ will be portrayed by _____. When you apply, the mods have the right to deny your portrayal choice. If that is the case, you must pick another one, or have one of us help you look. 20) Read everything. The first "that" in your application should be spelled "hatt", bolded, underlined, and italicized. This shows us that you've read the rules (or at least this one), and understand basic html. Forget this, and your application is an instant reject. 21) Keep the 5 points in mind. Break the rules/piss us off, to earn points. Earn 5 points and you're out of the game permanently. Excessive Inactivity - 1 pt OOC playing - 2 pts God-moding (depending on severity) - 2 to 4 pts OOC drama - 3 pts Disrespect (to mods or to other players) - 2 to 4 pts These are just examples to show severity. It's really up to us, and we don't expect to have to use it, so please don't make us. 22) READ EVERYTHING. Questions? Contact a mod. |

Our Rules: aka; gentleman's version This is where we cut down Mr Tyler's rules so that you can understand 1) The first rule of Fight Club is, you do not talk about Fight Club. Who you are in Fight Club and who you are in your natural lives are two different entities. No one is permitted to speak of fight club, or the acts therein-taking place, outside of fight club. 2) The second rule of Fight Club is, you DO NOT talk about Fight Club. It would seem he's serious. 3) If someone says stop, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. No exceptions. If you do not yell 'stop', the fight continues. Death is not recommended. 4) Two guys to a fight. Guys can fight girls. We do not discriminate based on gender. Girls, if you want to fight a guy, it's your choice and you will be treated as a guy. Dudes - no tit grabbing, please. 5) One fight at a time. Speaks for it's self. 6) No shirts, no shoes. Girls are allowed to wear sports bras. Girls must wear sports bras. 7) Fights will go on as long as they have to. See Rule 3. 8) If this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight. Our Additives: 1) Talk to the mods before a fight. We have to OK all fights for the pure and simple reason to prevent drama and retardation. 2) A winner must be decided ahead of time. In fight club, there are no ties. You win, or you lose. 3) No instant hits. No forced reactions. Example. "Sasori threw his knife directly at Suzuki's cheek, slicing the skin and drawing shrieks from the blond." See? That's lame. It's OK to ask OOC if it's all right for your character's blows to connect, but not to have the other character screaming at your mercy. 4) You must get hit. No one is perfect. No one is Superman. No one is Flash. You cannot dodge every attack. You will get beat up. It's a given. 5) Don't be ashamed of the OUCH. Being hit hurts. If your character has a high tolerance for pain canonly, that's one thing. But to get kicked in the groin and jump up and keep swinging five seconds after is lame. And impossible. Be realistic. 6) All fights must take place in a chat room. This is because a MOD must over-see everything in the fight. You may have spectators, but you must have a mod present. 7) The mods word is final. If, in a fight, a mod asks you to redo a post without so and so, you must redo it. Simple as that. If you do not, it is both disrespect, and the fight will be considered null and void. 8) Fighters fight, cowards run. This means that if it's in character for your character to attempt to kick someone's ass, they'll still try - despite the possibility of losing. 9) NO DYING. During a fight, you are not allowed to kill another person. No exceptions. Near death, yes. Corpse, no. |
