AboutWhether you're attracted by the challenge or you're practicing for National Novel Writing Month, a flash writing exercise can be addictive and a quick, interesting look at a set of characters. It can be a side project for a long project, it can be something weird and fun, it can be an point of pride, or it could just be something you do for fun. All you need is five minutes and a keyboard to flash write.
Flash writing is using a theme and a timer to create either the start to a story or a simple, self contained drabble.

While flash writing is generally without rules, for the community's sake, we have a few.
Rules
- Anything over a wordcount of five hundred words, please put behind a cut.
- Friends lock anything over a soft R rating and post behind a cut with warnings
- We work on the honor system of whether you only took five minutes or not, but we would like for you to or it defeats the purpose. You can finish a thought or a sentence, but that's all, please.
- There are five sets of twenty five themes, please choose two. The themes can be found here here or on the Theme Post.
- There aren't any claims but leave a comment with your fandom (or original) and characters on this post.
- Because of the manner that this works, please use one theme per flash, though you can write as many flashes per theme.
- Please make our jobs easier and tag your posts with your screen name, theme set, and fandom on every post.
