Update and Debate

Hey everyone, it's Josh.

First let me say that Europe was one of the best experiences of my entire life. At the same time, it was also one of the worst. To make a long story short, I basically had my heart ripped out and spread all over Austria and Italy by him (picture provided below, feel free to leave any bitchy comments about him. Make me smile) :) I don't have the baby anymore, Chrystalyn and the baby's father are actually reconciling now, and he's wiling to actualy BE A MAN and step up. So, my nest is empty now. It's a little sad not having a baby around ALL the time.

But yeah, because of that and some other upsetting things happening around me, I've been kind of depressed lately and I'm determined to get the hell out of this dark hole.

That being said, I have our new debate ready.

Fetal Gender Selection: Ethical or Unethical?
If you are for Fetal Gender Selection, are there any circumstances under which you would oppose it? If you are against, are there any circumstances which would cause you to be for it?

Some of you may wonder why I stray away from "Hot Issues" such as the War in Iraq, the War on Terrorism, Abortion, Religion, things like that. Well, to be honest, those topics are getting so trite that I will only go near them if they are extremely poignant. For example, if tomorrow, the House began impeachment hearings against the President over Iraq, I would probably post a debate on that. But otherwise, I'm not going to post a debate like "Was it right to Invade Iraq". (I mean, didn't we do that one like five times already?)

As some of you have so subtly and politely pointed out, our activities are a bit out of date. We have of course excused the debate situation as our beloved debate master has been off in Europe for a bit, and as many of you know though quite a few don't seem to care that I had to take a little break because *gasp* school comes before livejournal. Ha. So, I apologize that the activities are out of date. I've done a few in the last couple of days when I've had a moment or two of boredom to get on, but I'm having a good time on my break. Not really doing much, just driving here and there and working out a lot. Anyway, I know enough of you know that I'd never abandon this comm. I simply can't be on as much as I could before, but that's no reason for a big dramatic hiatus or departure. I'm not loving the fact that the bad attitude of a few people (including one of the maintainers, and wtf at that... thanks!) is affecting the usually friendly and fun atmosphere. I don't know about you all, but I'm here for leisure, to talk to intelligent and fun friends, and to read interesting material. I took over to keep this place going, but I don't think that entails constant annoyance. I know I'm preaching to the choir for a lot of you - many of you have been busy and inactive yourselves, no big. But for those of you that feel the need to complain or make pointed remarks instead of something useful like promoting or making random/interesting posts (or just taking a chill pill and remembering that it's an LJ community...), please stop. Thanks.

That said, New Theme: Many people, in many countries around the world bitch, moan, and complain about one man: George W. Bush. Few are able to aptly answer what they themselves would do in his shoes. So, whether you agree or disagree with his policies, explain what you would have done/would do in his place.

For anyone who doesn't know and/or can't be bothered to read the rules/info, to participate in a theme you make a new post in the community answering the given prompt. For this you get 10 points.

WOW! Well, I wanted to first apologize for my inactivity lately... I am super stressed out because in 2 weeks from tomorrow (holy crap), I am putting on my senior cabaret. (I'm a musical theatre major, and we're all required to do a 45 minute 1-man show that we write/direct/produce/and star in.)
SOOOO my life has been consumed with that. My spring break was last week but I couldn't even fully enjoy THAT because I was already stressing about my show. After that's done, I'll have one more month here in Syracuse (holy crap)... then GRADUATION! Once I hit home for summer, i'm sure I'll have a lot more time on my hands. Meanwhile, I'm TRYING to keep up with you guys... any moment I get that I can actually get on livejournal I usually just come straight here and try to catch up, make sure i'm not on the death list or anything ;-)

Stamped//Activities?

How current are the activities? The debate, live hunt and theme are dated February 22. Hunting Season is listed as "open" but I haven't seen any posts about it. Also, I was told there was a banner contest going on, but I haven't seen anyone else post about it and I know I haven't heard anything about the ones I submitted. So is everything just kind of out-of-date and quiet, or am I missing important posts or links somewhere?
