Well, I lost track of my daily numbers but I'm quite happy with my results. Even with not writing every day, I wrote most days and have the want and desire to continue this new trend.

Monthly Total: 9,947

Average Piece Total: 350

I had been striving for 10,000 so I came fairly close. Had I done my totals a couple of days ago, I would have written more to make it over the mark - kinda kicking myself for not doing so.

Either way, as far as I'm concerned this Fic Frenzy was a success.

28,959 - so close!

We had builders meant to be coming for the last few days, so the office sofa was wedged up against the computer desk. So when I hit a couple of research problems I didn't anticipate, everything kind of ground to a halt. I did write a 3000 word historical fiction short story on the last day though, entirely by hand, so all was not lost.

One day I'll crack this, I really will! I feel that if I don't push myself for a high target, I won't work so hard because I'll have less to aim for. Probably if I'd set my target at 20 or 25k, I would have goofed off more (hey, I know me!) And I do feel I got a satisfying chunk done. Though I do wish every month was ficfrenzy month!

Having realised just how far I have to pull my finger out to hit my target, I did that very thing.

Spped of writing - Slow. The beast is dragging it's heels again. And I'm not sure I'm putting the scene breaks in the right place. PLUS I need to rewrite a whole scene between Solyar and Phar because I'd forgotten they'd already met *blush*

Fic Frenzy Update

Well, week one I was well organized. After that, it all became very disorganized. That comes with good and bad news.

The good news, I'm still writing every day. There has been a couple of days that it just hasn't been possible, but on the whole I've written something.

The bad news, I have no idea how much I've written at this point or what I've written on what day to do a proper word count.

End of the month is just under a week away and while continuing my daily writing I'm going to try to get things in order to come up with a monthly total.

Days 22-24

Had a really bad few days, thanks mainly to the intervenion of RL in the shape of my Father-in-law. He's all bored now he's retired, and he wants to take us out and DO things (like all day yesterday *sigh*) I kept saying to Chris "are you sure you want me to go?" hoping he would say "no, that's ok, you stay at home and write", but no such luck. Well-meaning people think I need a break. I don't WANT a break, dammit!

So, day 22, before this slice of RL

FIL turned up wanting a lessson in how to use t'internet, which took up most of the morning, then had ouchy dentist in the afternoon.

Feel like I've caught up a bit now. My friend Colin wants to put together an anthology, Visions of *our home town* in the Future. So I came home last night all buzzed up on Vodka and scribbled down some ideas. Have to see how it goes. How come ideas that seem like genius the night before never look so good in the morning?

Worked on - Leaving of Avenhelm. I'm beginning to steer people into the places they should be for the Climactic Event. Once everyone's where they should be, it'll all kick off. And it'll have to kick off soon, I'm doing a talk on Apocolyptic Fiction at Exeter Uni in March, and it would be nice if I'd actually WRITTEN some by then *grins*
