Welcome to [info]ficfinishing: where to come to get fic done.

We are a community of authors and readers dedicated to getting fic from partial to published. Please read our profile for information on how the comm works.

Most of the comm's content is F-locked to provide a safe supportive environment for our authors and to encourage people to participate fully in the fic finishing process, not just to read the posts.

Please read our profile and FAQ before signing up and then if you'd like to participate join *and* watch the comm then come back to do an official Author Sign Up. (Author sign ups are posted on the first day of each month.)

Our first month round was March 2008 so we are currently on Round 6. Sign ups for August 2008 ended August 12th. Sign ups for Round 7 will begin on 9/1/08.

If you have any questions please feel free to leave them in a comment to the FAQ post or email me, your comm mod, at the address below.

BTVS is a HUGE fandom so I think we'll have to get a few rounds under our belt before we can take it on, but eventually yes, we'll add it and ATS. (And probably Firefly/Serenity too.)

I know a few NCIS fans so even though I don't watch/write this one I'd consider adding it soon if a few more people ask for it.

We're sticking with some smaller fandoms for our first rounds while we work out the kinks, but I imagine we'll get enough requests to add the CSIs in a reasonable amount of time. Just not April, sorry.

SPN is a MASSIVe fandom and even though I write it I find the idea of adding them a bit daunting. Even so, I expect to add them in either May or June, time permitting.

Hello! Just thought I'd drop a comment here and say what a great idea I think this comm is. Right now I don't have any fics to work on, but I'll be heading over to the First Reader sign up next.

Just wanted to add an interest for other fandoms I tend to write in not listed yet- I'm another Buffy/Angel/Firefly reader and writer, along with Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who/Torchwood.

I have a couple of request that's more of an inquiry really. So far the only fandom that has been request are TV-show but can there be other types as well?

In this case I would be really interested in 'Wheel of Time' fantasy series by Robert Jordan.

I also like for Angel/Btvs/Kindred the Embraced.

I admit I'm *very* much a TV ficcer, however I have *gasp* written a Harry Potter fic and I do want to write some Sandman (graphic novel) so I'm not against adding non-TV fandoms. I just decided to stick with what I know for the first few months while I was working out the kinks of the comm (since there's not really a template to follow you know?) and let it expand over time based on requests.

So if enough people ask for it and I can get a sufficient supply of First Readers? Then sure, I'd add it.

Honestly, I'd like adding the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony, but I've never read any fic in that fandom so it would be interesting...

And bonus! Someone else who remembers Kindred the Embraced! (I'd almost add it just for Patrick Bachau! /loffs/)

jajaja, how can anyone forget KtE! It's one of my fav fandoms though ironically one that I don't write much in. Got a couple of W.I.P's but nowhere near as many as Ats/Btvs and etc...

I liked it, though I know a lot of people that trashed the movie. I guess it's up to each and everyone to decided but in my opinion, the time I spent watching the movie was enjoyable, enough for me to rent it numerous times and then finally buying it. One things is for sure, it's deffinately an eye candy.

I know though that that fandom is primarily slash friendly for some reason *grin* between the four main characters.

It's a fairly big and active fandom. I was surprised it wasn't on here already.

Of course this has nothing to do with the number of unfinished House fics sitting on my hard drive.

House is on the Fandoms page which is where we now take requests for fandoms.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more interest from it, but then I don't do a ton of advertising for the comm. I mostly rely on word of mouth, but people are welcome to campaign for new fandoms by bringing people in to vote for them. It's how we got Blake's 7.
