Fic Simplicity

Wow. It's been well over a year since the last prompt. I was discussing prompts and drabbles with a friend today and realized that there hadn't been a prompt here for a long time.

So, back in the saddle and all that...

Prompt #45 is: Front Porch.

Around here, a front porch is almost a given, though I don't have much of one (it was turned into more living room space). People usually have their plants out there, perhaps a swing... it's where people gather, or sometimes just sit to watch the world go by. I'd include a front stoop or steps as well, if that's what inspires you.

I hope it does! Let's get back to writing about the little things in life.

Summer's in full sultry swing here, and down in the South we have what the meteorologists euphemistically call the "summer time pattern". It's hot all day, the cumulus clouds slowly become cumulonimbus clouds, and we get isolated thunderstorms - sometimes pretty scary ones, too!

So, prompt #44 is: Thunderstorm

This can be the literal thing, or an emotional thunderstorm. A temper tantrum, a tirade, the name of an animal... it's all good.

Notes: This was a challenge tossed to me by Steff – explain a facial scar that Scott has in the Mirror Universe. Now, facial scars are strange things. I still have some rather nasty ones from running into an air conditioner when I was a year old, but I've also ripped up my face twice more, once falling off of a bike when I was six and another time from falling down a wooded hill when I was twelve and neither left a long term mark. So... what causes one wound to scar and another not to? Beats me. Just enjoy the story.
