Spoilers: Very very vague allusions to episodes up to and including CSI:NY episode 3.18 “Sleight Out Of Hand”. No spoilers for either of the other CSI shows.
Content/Warnings: Nothing. How unusual for me.
Summary: It may be complicated, dark, unrequited, unexpected or even downright terrifying but it’s still love….
Authors notes: So, I know it’s not one fic as such, it’s a series of interconnected drabbles on the same theme, so I hope it’s OK. The short format just seemed to work with the title I had somehow. Oh, and I have some of my own interpretations of the way things are on these shows, things that never were quite canon but never were quite not canon if that makes sense (particularly with reference to CSI: Miami, which is the one I know least well).

Wow, it's been half a year since the last challenge - my apologies, I was busy with my MA. But now I'm done and have decided to finally re-join fandom. All rejoice! *g*
Anyway, this challenge theme goes back to the very first one: Songfic, or to be more exact, song titles.
Signing up is easy: Comment on this post with a number between 1 and 10'000, and the song that corresponds to this number in my iTunes will give you the title for your story. You don't need the song or the lyrics, just the title. As always you're completely free in your choice of fandom/genre/pairing.
Deadline for signing up is March 13 (because I'm on vacation until then). I'll send out assignments before March 18, and stories are due April 15.
Guidelines are simple: Join fic_inspiration in order to be able to submit your story. Please put your fic under a cut-tag and use a header with ratings, etc. You can do this at any time - all stories will end up in the queue until the deadline. If you're going to be late, please let me know. More guidelines can be found in the community userinfo.

Has it really been so long? I didn't mean to ignore this community so completely - I got distracted by slashy_letters (a snail mail exchange for LotR and Lotrips) and RL stuff. Anyway, fic_inspiration is back now and I hope this challenge will be a success again...
This time the theme is a concept that I've seen around before and find fascinating: Five Things That Never Happened to....
You simply pick a character from any fandom that you fancy and write five things that could have happened, but didn't. They have to be anchored in canon but then veer off, in any direction that you want to, changing the character's life big or small, it's up to you. The five things can be connected or completely independent, and as always gen, het and slash, FPF and RPF are accepted.
Sounds interesting? Then check out the guidelines and sign up by commenting here or emailing me, just so I know how many stories we can expect. There is no sign-up deadline - if you want to write the story in a day, it's up to you. Fic has to be submitted by August 31, 2005 and will go online a day later.
As before I hope to get a lot of different entries from as many fandoms as possible - just have fun with it. And please spread the word!

For those who haven't seen the show, Roger and Mimi both have AIDS, only they don't know about the other. Mimi is Roger's neighbor, and has just come by the apartment declaring her need to go out and requesting Roger come with her. He turns her down, basically telling her she knows nothing about life because she's too young, and she tells him to live for no day but today.
