Author Note: prequel to the series, spoilers for the episode “Is There A Woogey In The House?”. Phoebe’s 5, Piper’s 8 and Prue’s 12.



Phoebe opened her eyes as she heard a deep laugh. She looked around the dark bedroom and saw both her sister’s asleep.

“Piper,” she whispered. She got out of bed and slowly walked across the room. “Piper,” she said again, shaking her awake.

“What?” Piper mumbled.

“Are you awake?”

“No,” Piper said. “Why are you?”

“I heard something.”

Piper rolled over to look at her baby sister. “What kind of something?”

“Something loud.”

She rolled her eyes. “It was probably just the Gregor’s dog. It’s always getting out.”

“It wasn’t a dog. I’m waking up Grams,” Phoebe said as she started heading for the door. Piper jumped out of bed and grabbed her arm.

“No, you aren’t. There’s no reason to wake her up.”

“But, Piper!”

“I said no, Phoebe.”

“What is going on?” Prue groaned from her bed in the far corner of the room.

“Phoebe heard something,” Piper said.

“Again? Pheebs, there’s nothing in the basement.”

“But I heard it,” Phoebe insisted.

“I know,” Prue said, getting out of bed and walking over to her youngest sister. “Grams has told you a million times, there’s no such thing as the Woogeyman.”

“But...”

Prue just shook her head. “Come on,” she took Phoebe’s hand and led her back to bed. “Just go to sleep.” Phoebe reluctantly laid down and Prue began tucking her in.

“Nice and tight,” Piper commented.

Prue did just as her sister said, tucking Phoebe into bed so her covers were around her shoulders and restricting her arms.

“Night,” Piper said as she and Prue both got back into bed.

There was another noise.

“Piper, you heard that right?” Phoebe whispered urgently.

“That was Piper,” Prue said as Piper giggled.
