Adam walked out of the delivery room of the hospital in a haze.

Grace quickly stood from her chair in the waiting room, not sure what to make of his face. “Rove?”

He looked at her and smiled, then shook his head.

“Are you a daddy?”

He smiled wider and nodded. “Yeah, I’m a daddy. It’s a girl.”

“Name?”

“What?” he asked, totally spaced out.

“Name, Rove. What’s the kid’s name?”

“She doesn’t have one yet. Joan’s zonked out on pain killers and doesn’t even know her own name right now. She said wanted to name her Tallulah.”

“Tallulah Grace Rove. That has a nice ring to it.”
